    Whiteside reminds me of Darius Miles.

    Unlimited talent and athleticism, but a poor motor and not a true fan of the game. Got into basketball because of the money. I could see him having a massive dropoff after he signs his big contract.

    That the scary part on this kid is he going bring it when he gets the money or not. He don't need go big market because exposer to me will be to much. Because we know if doesn't live up to his contract in NY or LA the writers will tear him apart.

    They playoffs one is legitimate in my mind. But I think the other 2 articles are more about the people he's on the floor with.

    The heats best defensive lineup, and the lineup with the largest sample size. Has whiteside in it. They allowed 90 points, and they scored 103

    Meant to say "best lineup"
    They had one better defensive one, but they scored way less, and the sample size is small.

    The heats top 3 lineups last year (with 15 or more games played) had whiteside in them. And they Had netrtg's of 12.3 12.8 and 14

    do you have a link to that? 82games.com suggests otherwise. Whiteside, was present in most of their best lineups, no doubt:

    However, his impact was felt primarily on the offensive end, not the defensive, as evidenced by his on/off court numbers, which show that they actually allowed fewer points with him sitting than playing.

    Looking at NBA.com, looks like the Heat's 2nd best lineup last year (total +/-) didn't have Whiteside, but had Joe Johnson and Amare Stoudamire along with Dragic, Deng, and Wade.

    Regardless, his presence in their best lineups doesn't negate his overall impact on their team, as shown in the 82games stats I showed above.

    One mistake I made was the "biggest sample size" I was looking at the most games played, instead of minutes played. The bosh lineup is the highest minutes played, but that was the beginning of the season, and bosh looked like crap.

    I think peer pressure might be enough to keep HW focused on basketball. If he is as immature as some people say, it's possible that what Damian, CJ, and Ed Davis think of him might be more important to him than what Wade and Bosh think.

    Darius Miles walked into a completely different locker room.

    Yep, noticed that. But looking at only their best rated lineups doesn't really paint a clear picture. Look at the negative net rating lineups in their most used groups. He's in most of those too, including the negative one with the largest sample size (which doesn't include Bosh). Better to look at the overall picture, which is why I went to 82games.

    According to 1080 The Fan, they think Whiteside has the Lakers, then Portland, then Miami as his rankings according to his sources.
    I'm doing a piece on this later but that is very similar to something I was told as well.

    Or better yet, it might show that he is someone that might not be the right player to fit what we need. To me the Lakers and Blazers are 2 totally different teams and situations so if we are both serious contenders then he may not know what he really wants in a team.

    He's talked a lot about the right fit. The Lakers aren't a fit for any player in their prime right now. The fact that the Blazers are a playoff team where he can immediately get a max deal and be featured on offense should make the situation more appealing. If he picks the Lakers, he can enjoy losing 60 games and not being on national TV very often.
