Pettit is one of the players I do not think would be one of the greats today.

How old are you? Calm the hell down.

I know Dynasty agrees with me, and War Poet doesn't buy into the clutch nonsense. Two examples off the top of my head. This "consensus" means nothing either, it is a vague analyzing of the situation

This is actually a respectful conversation, keep it that way.

Why stop arguing? Does agoo own you? What he said was ridiculous anyway, talk about lack of courtesy.

As long as we can keep discussing that in peace, I've got no problem with your jokes. :)

no, but I'm tired of arguing about D. Robinson, when anyone who's seen him play and knows the game, knows he's not worthy of that pick..................the fact that you had to go to some "website" to validate your claim speaks volumes. For the last time.......these are the reasons D-Rob isn't #8 worthy

A.) He was never a big game player. The evidence I have for this is that he doesn't have any big game moments in the playoffs, or any big games where he out performed the best player on the other team to win a series. And when he was on the biggest stage of his career during his prime with the best team in baskeball record wise, in a year where he won an MVP, he was dismantled, and he's said this "himself."
B.) His game was sorta "finesse." He was never a great back to the basket player. This is one reason why he was never a big game player. He never had any type of "go to move" that so many of the other greats had.
C.) Never could "lead" a team to a title, like other top picks did.
D.) Wasn't even the greatest player in his franchise's history.......like other top picks were.

Trust me when I say he's not worth a top 10 pick....sorry man he just isn't................

feel free to continue to argue, but I'll stop for the sake of the rest of the board.

I had to go to some website to prove what? Huh?

Somehow being outplayed by Hakeem makes one a choker? Hakeem was a great player, but D-Rob did not have a bad series against him. His comments (like yours), do not match his performance in that series.

Why does he play well in the playoffs if he's bad in big games? 1991-1992 is a perfect example of his career, he dominates the Warriors but his team loses.
"Finesse" does not mean choker though. There is a clear difference from saying you prefer Shaq, to saying DRob choked. And there is no need for the T-Mac comparisons.

It is a team sport, always will be.
Tim Duncan was a great player, DRob is easily comparable though, no matter which side you take.

This is the flaw I can't get past, obsessing over being #8. He could be outside the top ten, he is still on Shaq's tier to me for the reasons stated above. Shaq acted like a brat and needed Kobe/Wade, plus lacked defensive intensity. They are on similar levels.

You should have never had this much conviction if you had scant tangible evidence. I'd say in the future be careful about setting the bar so high like that about his "choking".

I don't think much of ANY of the current SGs, except maybe Kobe, when talking all-time.

I kinda agree, but Wade is one of the best SGs to ever play the game when looking at his complete game and his clutch ability.............And he put on one of the most amazing finals performances ever, with an old beat up Shaq. He basically carried that team to a title....................Add him on a squad with another man who carried a team to a title and you have 2 dynamic players.
