I was thinking about the way Mark Price played and I thought he might be comparable to Chris Paul, so I looked it up.

Here are both of their 3rd seasons.

Paul had less help and was a larger percentage of his team's offense. He is physically stronger than Price was - despite being two years younger. His AST:TO ratio was also much better.

Price was a much better shooter. (.623 TS% for a guard! Yow!)

Defensively they were pretty similar. Paul is more aggressive, but Price was less likely to be burned. Paul was slightly harder to post up. (Mark Jackson's butt would have less of an effect on him.)

Price could finish at the rim, but he couldn't jam it like Paul can. Price drew a surprising amount of contact considering how many less shots he took than Paul. Both of them were deadly at the line, but nobody in history was more automatic than Price.

Both of them were able to get wherever they wanted on the court at any time and both lifted their teammates to new heights.

Paul had an incredible season and I think he is clearly the better player, even at 22. Paul is so strong and he carried the load for his team like very few have (or were even able to) in history.

I don't think either of these guys gets enough praise, though. The '88-'89 Cavs were a blast to watch, and they finished one game better than last year's Hornets. Give Paul his own Ron Harper to go with his bizarro versions of Larry Nance (Peja), Brad Dougherty (West) and Hot Rod Williams (Chandler). His load will decrease, but his team will be incredible.

I looked at his stats, they're not that good. he had some good games in his career, but he wasn't very consistent.

I forgot about Vlade, but he would have been a better pick than Greg Oden. How are you going to go into an all-time NBA draft and take a guy who hasn't played a game?

CF, you know Vlade was on my list of bigs, but at this point I don't need a big.

And I agree, why draft Oden when he hasn't even played a game.

I'm surprised, DW you didn't draft that SG we discussed the other night... I think he was a better player than Scott.

And since you are reading this...I'll figure out matchups tomorrow night....as in Sunday night.

    I'm tired lol

If you guys are okay with it, I'm just going to random generate a sequence using the same numbers we had at the beginning of this thing. Whoever's number is directly under your number in the sequence is who you will be matched up with. I'll take care of all of it.

Just trust me, I'm experienced with this kind of thing.

Hey guys I'm so sorry that I didn't get around to the matchups...I got caught up playing a game lol

Question: Should I sticky each matchup? If I do its gonna have a lot of stickies on the NBA General forum, but if I don't sticky them, they could be hard to find...

CF, can you update the rosters?

I had Chet, JoJo, Paxson, Nixon, Kenon, and Hornacek on my list....but my Laker side got the best of me. Also alot of those names are there cause ALOT, WAY TOO MANY, modern players were taken.

Denny what do you suggest about the matchup threads? Should we sticky it? Put it in Fantasy Basketball? Leave it be, and post it normally?

It's gonna be alot of matchup threads and I don't want people having a hard time to find them, but I also don't want like...20-30 stickied threads.
