None were flat out better. And WOW, OMG, Robinson lost to one of the best centers ever in the history of the NBA? Big deal guy. You can not verify that though, you're the same guy that said Josh Smith would be better a PF than Pau Gasol because Pau sucked as a center against the Celtics. You overreact all the time (so does the media, etc.) so I'd like to see some actual individual proof. Yeah remember who you're talking about, Hakeem, not some punk, who was also on a damn good team. No it's not blasphemy, and the playoff series is a 6 game sample size where D-Rob didn't even struggle. You keep hyping it up because you saw some epic Bio about that series on youtube or your tv/whatever.
Yeah because he was born before various players. I'd rather have LeBron if anything. I wouldn't jump through hoops for West at the end of the first round.
I guess the intangibles did it for you? Denny we all know you're not about stats, you don't care about possessions or shots.
look there's a reason why he had a wrap for being soft, and you'd have to watch him play during that time to understand that.........and yes selecting Robinson at 8 means that you feel that he's the 8th best player of all time...............................and that is something I find hilarious. Like Celtic "Fan" said, he just wasn't on "that level" to be selected that high. didn't what???? You want to deny that he wasn't out there on the floor in game 6 getting beat with D Rob and the boys? No...you watch youtubes.............I watched it happen when it actually went down......people were calling it an epic ass kicking then.......once again the question you keep ignoring..................did you ever watch D Rob play in his prime????? Do you remember David Robinson Raisin Brand commercials??? Do you remember "David Robinsons Walle Moccasins?" If not then how are you going to tell people that watched him play on "numerous" occassions under various situations that your pick is justified from stats you pull from nba.com???? As good as he was defensively Hakeem was better, clutch moments Hakeem was better, when looking at their total offensive package and skill set Hakeem was better, in their head to head matchup with Robinson playing for a 62 win team while being the leauge MVP Olajuwon outplayed him.......therefore mentioning him in the same breath = blasphemy..........D Rob shouldn't be a number 8 pick.......that's a fact. I have a game who doesn't belong Jordan Wilt Bird Magic Kareem Hakeem Duncan Oscar Russell Robinson ?????????????????
You're speaking of the same Moses that used to train Hakeem when he first came over from Nigeria?????..........Am I correct?????......................
All you do is say "I'm older than you, I'm right...." etc. I find it hilarious you can't prove how he choked though. IIRC, he went back into both games after they were already decided, but that's not my point though. I edited my previous post before you posted this, so I didn't cause a tangent. :] You say he's not top ten because of "intangibles". Fact is, it sounds like a baseless claim and I keep challenging you to validate your comments.
oops forgot one..........I said Josh Smith is better defensively and at rebounding....the fact that he's young and can get better also makes that more tempting. I know "softness" when I see it.....Dirk = soft, Tmac = soft, Gasol = soft............D Rob wasn't as soft as these guys I mentioned and he's better than all of them, but he was never "that guy" you could depend on........
I find it hilarious that you picked him at 8....................His game was not a "big mans" game at times, similar to KG. I've already explained that. He had a great jumper and he used his quickness to get around opponents, but he was never a great post up player with his back to the basket....there were many who were better. He never had any significant big game moments in the playoffs........He wasn't a big game player, and you have no evidence to prove that he was........... If you had to win a big game and had "one" great player along with some mediocre talent would David Robinson be #8 on your list given his track record??????
Saying he's a better defensive player, rebounder, and is younger is a FACT regardless of what series you're talking about.......And it's not like Gasol was a "tough" player before his move to L.A. anyways..............how many playoff games did he "win" before coming to LaLa land????? hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......................I believe the answer when rounding to the nearest decimal place is....... 0 Gasol was soft before that series, and he's soft now as well. It hurts your credibility when you try to argue with people who actually watched him play............
Lol he's KG now? He's not close in efficiency to D-Rob. The only reason he's not top 10, is because of intangibles. So a natural progression of the conversation would be for me to question why he was a choker. Pure anecdotal accounts are simply not enough. Shaq was an All-Time Great, pretty comparable or slightly better if you want to go that route. I said you can make the case for person X, but by no means was it by the magnitude you speak of.
Lol what does this have to do with anything? Pau can be as soft as he wants, he's not a Center, Josh Smith isn't either. You still based everything off one series, Gasol is the perfect PF for the Lakers. Like you said, people who actually "watch" Pau, know better.
I'm not comparing him to KG stat wise....I'm comparing their games as "big men"....which were in some ways similar given the fact that neither one was great in the paint.......If you honestly believe D Rob is worth a number 8 pick then you're dillusional man............... Intangibles = a big part of the game.......Tmac statistically is wonderful.....Tmac doesn't have the "it" factor though............therefore Tmac is nowhere near the level of Kobe or Lebron................If you're building at team I want my first pick to be a guy with "it"..........D Rob never proved to have "it" anytime throughout his career, therefore I'll make an educated guess that he just didn't have "it" It proves that Gasol's soft play was validated before he came to L.A......I'm not basing the FACT that Smith is a better defender, rebounder, and is younger off of "one" series.....These are facts that any basketball fan would tell you.....And I was referring to watching D Rob play....which you didn't.............which explains why you think he's a top 8 player all time...........which is insane.....
Moses only issues in the playoffs was Larry Bird and Magic Johnson FYI Moses career numbers are better than D-Robs and His playoff numbers go up, which is the sign of a great player
