<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">Ray Allen will undergo arthroscopic surgery tomorrow in Los Angeles to remove a fragment of bone or cartilage from his right ankle.

The Sonics will not announce a timetable for Allen's return until after the operation, but a ballpark estimate is that it will be about a month before he plays again. If that's the case, Allen would miss the first 13 games of the regular season. It had been speculated he could miss about 20 games.

Had open surgery with an incision been performed, Allen could have missed at least six weeks.</div>

That sure puts a damper on the Sonics season.
