yeah ok...but my point was that the weapons Portland had last season played well. They got 54 points from their 3 'other' starters who combined for a TS% somewhere around .600. CJ playing great, and Aminu playing over his head weren't able to force the Pels into "honest" defense. Will Hood or Curry do what CJ and Aminu couldn't? Will Kanter make teams give up jumping the PnR when Dame is running it?

by the way, you might want to take a look at what Hood's playoff history has been...it's not pretty. He has a regular season PER of 13.3 & a playoff mark of 6.5; a regular season TS% of .539 and a playoff mark of .450; a regular season winshare/48 of 0.90 and a playoff mark of -0.039; a regulars season BPM of -1.0 and a playoff mark of -5.6. He might be kind of leaky vessel to put a lot of hope in. Kanter hasn't had a statistical dropoff, but his minutes have gone way down in the playoffs...like cut in half

Sure the rest of the teams TS% was fine but they were a tragedy when it came to ball movement and getting good shots, so many turnovers, and Nurkic was basically benched most of that series it felt like.
Like I said I'm not sure that they have figured it out, but we'll see shortly I suppose.

Now you're cherry picking years and giving excuses so let's just agree to end this as it appears it is heading downhill again. Game time and you need to get warmed up for the game thread.

What's the point in acquiring Aldridge, to contend, or to satisfy nostalgia?

Screw nostalgia, I want to contend, and Griffin gives us a much better chance to do so.

The only reason it heads downhill is because you make up a narrative to argue or you accuse people of things like "cherry picking", etc.

Cherry picking years? You used 4 years to include his low of a 35 game season. I'm picking his past 3 years because that's the timespan when he's changed the way he's played. When I think "recent season", I usually think of the past 3 years.

Nobody is giving excuses at all. What excuse did I give? He's been more healthy lately because he doesn't try to dunk and bang into everyone like he used to. That's a reason why he isn't hurt as much. Not an excuse.

As I said, to spoil the narrative I posted, you have to include data from FOUR years ago. So like I said, people are overreacting to what happened YEARS ago when he was a completely different player.

I get that you have a nostalgic want for LaMarcus, but if you're looking at players while disregarding who used to play here, Blake Griffin is the much, MUCH better option.

Dame's kind of forcing some shots that aren't there.

2010 Suns got to WCF by giving 6-10 major minutes. It can work. Same with 99 Blazers

    Thats completely false.
He had 1 season playing 35 games. Every other season he's been 60-80 games

By BG, I assume you mean @BigGameDamian right? Yeah, I'd rather have him than LA too.
