Yea Amare scored mroe, but Duncan beat him in rebounds and assists, and whose team won? Duncan's. Unlike Amare, he makes everyone around him better.

This is without question Tim Duncan. He has proven himself as a consistent player in this league and is the best PF ever. For him to be compared to Amare Stoudemire, a young player who had one good year while being surrounded with talent, is embarrasing.

Oh no, that was not directed at you at all. It was just in general, just the comparison of these players is ridiculous. How in the world can you compare Timothy Duncan a 2X NBA Champion, a 2x MVP to Amare Stoudemire? I think it's just ridiculous just as the comparisons that people draw with Wade and LeBron to Kobe, A.I and T-Mac. I'm calling it right now, if one more rookie graces this league and has an impact similar to Amare, Wade early on I can almost guarantee that you will see threads comparing that rookie to Jordan, heck I'm sure there will be plenty saying that he is the greatest of all time.

    Real difference between the two

Rebounding, leadership, defense and the abilty to make guys around him better. Amare is only 22 so he will improve his rebouding and defense. He is very capable of being a very good defender. He blocks shots but doesn't guard the basket or his man that well. That will come with time but wether he can spread the floor for others is a nother matter.

Pointless comparison at this stage of Amare's career.

TD is better-Amare is more explosive right now and he will be but there are some things about Amare's game that need work-Amare is young so this question will be better asked in 3 years then we can compare-TD is a complete player

If i had to build a team and i could choose a young duncan or a young amare i'd pick duncan anyday. Sure amare is the future of the big man, but duncan will bring you championships, he makes his whole team better. I really question that about amare, i dont really think he makes anyone in phoenix good except statistically for nash. Duncan just the compete package, hes got everything you want in a power forward and a bag of potato chips. However i do base this on the fact that duncan has proven himself, whereas amare is still young and thus hasnt achieved as much as duncan has. Time will tell tho.

That's right time will tell but i can bet that on a one on one game Amare will murder Duncan. He'll dunk all over him. lol.
