I haven't wanted it to be. I thought it would be, and it has been. Someone posted an article on the team that wasn't glowing, and the forum lambasted the OP for the article being written by someone they didn't approve of.

I think the post count is more combative back and forth than discussion though. Or nonsensical posts about Eric's sex life.

LOL, that's just hilarious. Or sad. I can't decide.

All I know is the Clippers were 19-63 before he was GM and the year he left they were 40-26 and lost in the conference semi-finals.

The year before he took over the Portland job we were 28-38. He drafted the RoY in Lillard for the 2012-2013 season, and we've been in the playoffs every year after that.

I don't think it had much to do with who wrote it, many felt it wasn't an accurate or a complete assessment of the moves made by Olshey as the GM of the Clippers and Blazers.

I just went down the first couple pages of the thread, and counted 10 negative comments about Dave or BE.

So you wasted no time in jumping back into your victim role. It's amazing how some people never change.

Yes, we're going to criticize someone who is writing about the acquisitions of our GM, and conveniently leaves out some of the most recent acquisitions. That's just poor writing and poor research.

Wow. Who's being a victim? Sly and I were having a discussion. Civil at that. He said it was more about the article so I looked and pounted out it may not have been.

MM, I respect you and value your contributions, but I think I was the OP and I didn't notice that I got lambasted at all. It seemed like a respectful discussion overall. I don't regret posting it in the least; it did show that Olshey is far from perfect but the discussion also showed that the writer wasn't fair and that overall Olshey has done pretty good.

    Nope. Not a victim.

And just to clarify, nobody was attacking the OP, otherwise known as the "Original Poster." We were criticizing Dave, the author of the linked article. Dave is not the OP.

It's a lot of work setting up and operating a publishing platform. I did it once for natebishop3, but it never got used.

If we can get something going like this:
    http://www.sportstwo.com/forums/beyond-blazers-w-dan-marang.620/

Then I'd gladly set up a publishing platform for the site.

Sly was mocking me. Its not being a victim to say that. I wasnt crying for justice. And people do get blasted for being less than rose color blind.

I thought this thread would cause a shit storm because posting stuff anti 100% pro Blazers by BE usually does.

That's a load of crap. Wordpress is already coded. You load it onto the FTP and it's there. It's not a "lot of work." You did that with Drupal. I have loaded Drupal on 3-4 sites. It's far from difficult.

You put the files on the S2 FTP and I didn't have the energy to build it from scratch six or seven years ago. It was just a blank site that needed everything. Don't pretend like it was a finished product that didn't get used.

Sly was mocking you because what you posted deserved to be mocked.

"People need to start realizing that it is in their best interest not to post anything remotely negative about the Blazers. They will just be ridiculed or called a troll. True or not true, just let the forum think the team can do no wrong and just move on."

    Give me a break.

Actually, I've kicked Sly out of my doghouse because the space is needed for Noah Vonleh.

You will be labeled as a troll if you only post negative things, disappear when the team is doing well, and then resurface when things aren't going well. That's a fact of life.

For instance, you were nowhere to be found until the season ended, so you could provide us with a realistic, non-homer point of view on the season, so us homers couldn't feel too good about getting knocked out by the warriors in 5 games. Gotta keep it real!

Ummm... they did it because the article was unfinished, not-thought-out, or thoroughly analyzed.

"Hey, you did a great job! You forgot to clean the toilet, wash the mirror, do the dishes, or clean any of the rooms. But overall, you did a good job!"

We're not bashing it for the sake of it being a negative article (it's not) we're lamenting the fact he didn't do a thorough job on it, like a journalist should.

I thought that was pretty logical to see.

Send Dave an email, invite him to join the forum. Once he does the personal insult rule will apply and I will delete the comments.

    You win!

Why let logic get in the way of a good martyrdom?
