    THey were basically talking about the players maybe willing to take less than MAX to play together, the Knicks saying to buy stock in Madison Square Garden if they sign and they'll make up the difference that way (3 FAs at $11M each!)... And LeBron might take a low enough salary for a team to sign another player at MAX because he makes so much off the court in endorsements and a ring would make him even more money that way.

    Oh, and Miami has no state income tax, so that figures in if they take less than Max.

    The difference is 500 K a year in Miami, for a shorter time frame of winning possibly and less touches? I think Chicago is the best suited place that has a lot of cap space.

    Illinois has a 3% tax rate. 3% of $10M is $300K, so yeah, it's about $500K.

    In NYC, it's 6.85% so more than $1M less per year, $5M over a 5 year contract.
