I think there were a lot of reasons. They disarmed Saddam. They kept the oil flowing freely (that is, free market). They surrounded Iran - troops in the countries to the west and east. They were intent on nation building somewhere, Iraq makes way more sense than Afghanistan. We had military bases in Kuwait and Qatar. Not sure why we'd need more in Iraq.
Some Success? Well lord! I can chose here? I can't remember how Carter actually hurt me, but I do know that Obame cost me(and my wife) the health care plan that took me 30 years to earn. Gone with his unconstitutional dream.
Ha! Yeah the 18%, 21 even. That didn't hurt me much, hell it got me a gig as consultant to the Federal Reserve and they bought my product to support the plan to get the inflation under control. You are right though bad shit happen under Carter. Tell me again what Obama's success is? Oh! I forgot, I bought a motorcycle so I didn't have to do the gas on even/odd days.
If you blame black for bad, then he may be the last as well as the first. I think it has more to do with being the first non American President. ( No, I believe Hawaii his his place of birth.) He sure as hell is not a natural born American.
Stock market is high. Everyone with a 401K is benefitting. Interest rates are rock bottom. Everyone with a mortgage is benefitting. The difference between 19% and 13% on a $50K mortgage is $450/month. Real money.
And that Sir is one of his biggest failures. The reason the Fed has the rates so damn low is because the economy is so bad. It sure seems to me the reason it is so bad is because no one trust this guy to up hold the laws and lead this Nation. They just sit it out until he is replaced.
The lower interest rates save me a lot if money every month. Much more than a tax cut would. That's something real. I can't say the same for the Peanut Farmer.
