i've seen iggy in the offense, and it's not necessarily AI taking away his shots, he's just not very assertive in the half court offense. In fact, AI called him out bc he was playing passively. As for the Sixers not having a presence inside, that's simply wrong. Damuel Dalembert was leading the league in blocks for a while. And Steven Hunter is a good shotblocker too. Korver is an underrated defender. He doesn't get burned very often. Alot of the high ppg allowed is that guys like Iverson and Iguodala go for the STEAL instead of sitting back and playing actual defense. They get burned bc they gamble on defense and it's an easy score for the other team. Iggy is part of the problem with that.
I never noticed Iggy going for steals. Eveyrone compared to Bruce Bowen. Bruce plays that old school D that will make you wanna hook him. Iguodala plays the same but it's not as intense. I rearely see Iggy go for a steal. I always see AI go for passing lane steal but he's known for that he can pull it off. That helps turn the game around and brings some type of control to the team so they control the pace.back to topic.I pick Iggy over Josh. Josh Smith is great player to me in his own way. I'll rather have Iggy because I think he can play the outside more then Josh. I think Josh Smith is great inside player but his outside is a little weak. Iggy's is too but he has more then Josh and he can also play the inside too because of his frame

And if Iggys defense is so great than how come their team scores the 2nd most in the league and they had near a .500 record? That doesnt make much sense. Back to the point, I think that it would be safe to say that both Smith and Iguodala will both have very bright futures. Im sure that we can both agree on that.</div>That question makes no sense in the context you put it. The Sixers were so horrible because of their defensive problems... and Iggy was not the problem. You can't expect Iguodala to guard all five men on the opposing team at the same time.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Nitro1118 @ May 1 2006, 08:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>They did so poorly because of AI and CWebb not meshing. As for their defense, they had no inside presence, Korver and AI are weak defender, and Iggy was only good defender. I agree, both have very bright futures, but I see Iggy going further.</div>AI and Webber meshed well offensively, it was just the role players around weren't consistent enough offensively throughout the year. Even so, their biggest problem was defense, not offense.Anyway... all this talk about Smith's upside is killing me. If you're talking about potential, Iguodala has just as much, if not more, potential than Smith.I also agree with Nitro in the sense that Iguodala putting up 12.3 points a night on 8.4 FGA per game on a team where the top two players attempt roughly 44 of the team's 80 FGA a game is slightly more impressive than Josh Smith putting up 11.3 points a night on 9.7 FGA on a team where their top two options shoot 33 of the team's 80 FGA per game.

What made that so good was that Lakers had an inside presence. Chris Webber is a terrible and slow defender, and AI is too small and can't play 1 on 1 defense. Iggy is a good one on one defender, and does a very good job (the one game that is glaring in my mind is early in season vs. Lakers, where he held Kobe to 17 points on 7-27 shooting). If the inside presence is so good, both AI's could go for steals and it would be ok as the frontcourt would be there to back them up if defenders got by them. They go for so many steals as when Sixers run, they are a very good team.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT, BEACAUSE EVERYBODY KNOW IGGY IS BETTER NO MATTER HOW GOOD SMITH'S DUNKS R. CUZ IGGY HAS SOME SPECTACULAR DUNKS HIMSELF.
