Yes, you could. The highlights aren't meant to show his average , it's meant to show that he's physically still a very capable player. If you look at Bazemore's highlights from last season, and Iggy's highlights from last season, would a unknowing person easily notice that one player is 5 year older than the other? I doubt it. Blazer fans don't need highlights anyway to remember that he can shut down our best player one-on-one at the end of a game. Bazemore's and Iggy's stats are not deceptive. One is a complete player, the other isn't.
Always LOVED his game. Arizona had 2 kids from our neighborhood that played with him there. Salim Stoudamire and Chris Rogers.....so we all kinda went out of our way too watch Arizona games when we could. Say him and instantly fell in love with his game on both ends.
Chris Rogers was a head case and my son pretty much shut him down below his average his senior year when he was at Wilson and then our idiot coach (Dwight Jaynes brother) pulled him and put one of his younger players in and got torched.. My son was quick and long which bothered Rogers.
On December 15th we could do this: POR Gets: Andre Iguodala, Josh Jackson MEM Gets: Kent Bazemore, Mario Hezonja, 020 & 2022 2nds
Jackson is averaging 21.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game in the G-League. I know that doesn't mean much but Memphis is starting to look at him as a possible long term option instead of a salary dump. That trade would also add $3.2 million to Portland's payroll and without doing the exact math roughly $10 million in tax.
Yes, it would add $3.2M in payroll. Good math! I've told you why I'm not considering Jody's checkbook in trade ideas. It might be an obstacle but nobody knows, and it hasnt proven to be one yet. That trade idea os based off Memphis not valuing Jackson. Keeping him in the G-League dorsnt shoe me they value him all that much. Could also include Kyle Anderson instead of Jackson, which is a better trade on Memphis end IMO.
What would we do with Jackson then? Could we waive him or buy him out? He is not good for our culture. https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2019/2/28/18245063/josh-jackson-no-shows-phoenix-suns-meet-greet
I know all about Jackson. Probably shop him elsewhere for an expiring or stick him in the G-League. He could be a good trade piece as a $7M expiring at the deadline.
I was reading these posts and the underling skill he has demonstrated is defense. A thirty six year old big man may be a good one year deal. Next season would be financially risky for us due to his age group.
