No, it's not the same software. The avatar sizes are a tweak I can easily make. It does matter, but those are nits, not show stoppers.

No. Just new posters have the option to use their existing social media credentials instead of creating dedicated ones just for this site. It should be more inviting to people who find the site by searching google, etc.
