I did not say they suck, do not editorialize my comments please. If you do not understand them i understand, please get 6th grade education and return to forums. If you do understand them then reanalyze my comments and construe a response that makes sense.
im open for another debate over why the eagles "arent that good''. bring it BF1, ill be in eagles forum for it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Philly_Freak93)</div><div class='quotemain'>beef, does stats mean eveerything to you? its not baseball.</div> Stats do not mean everything to me, but they sure mean an awful lot....I understand that some positions can not be defined by numbers, CB's for instance....but Safety is not one of them....Safeties are unavoidable, they can not be game planned around....if a safetiy is not puting up numbers, its becuase hes not playing well....Statistical analysis can be an excellent tool to compare and evaluate players and teams....its important to step back from the emotions of the game, and look at the numbers....How long will you ignore the tools the internet provides for you? When will you make the transition from blind fanatic to football scholar like the most of our members? I predict at around 17 years old, thats when I transitioned....
S can be avoided, u run the ball alot, then run the play action. when u run the S is taking his first few steps back toread the play, but after you run alot, the S comes into the box, then u play the play action so the S is far from the passing plays. also, you run the ball to the outside of the opposite field of the S. thats how you avoid and DB
thats not avoiding a safety. thats trying to trick a safety...and it works if he isnt playing well, but if he doesnt buy the play action, hes likely to be in position to make a play....you can literally refuse to throw towards a CB becuase you know what WR hes is assigned to cover, but Safeties often cover half the field....if you tried to avoid a safety by only using half the field, that would be detremental to your offense....Safeties can not be avoided, and they cant be game planned against unless they have a weakness in thier game which can be exploited....a good safety will make plays, and lots of them....
Safities play 13 yards back, if u run out of bounds you are avoding him, if the runners tackled before he gets to the safety hes avoided, if the QB throws to the other side, or away ffom the S hes avoidied. most times the tackle is made before the S can run up, and if he gets their in time itll only be a assist. thats why dawkins has higher numbers on Eagles website because they count all the assists, not the only 2 initial tacklers. its not all intentional, but the S can be avoided.
you cant "run out of bounds" to avoid safeties, you will get your self cut, you will lose the respect of your teammates, you will never play in the league again unless you do it stop the clock or if your a QB....you are also twisting the conversation...of course ball carierrs are trying to avoid safeties, along with LB's CBs, and all other defenders, they are trying to not get tackled....Im talking about avoiding a safety with a game plan....and it cant be done....if your game plan includes throwing only to the left because you fear the safety on the right, you will have no success on offense....you can game plan around CB's, you can game plan around DE's and DT's, you can not game plan around S's and LB's, becasue you never know where they will be....its a simple fact about the safety posision, either your making plays, or your stealing your paycheck....
you gameplan around fast passrushers by running right out them, not allowing them to chase the play and utilize their speed, then when you pass, you roll away from them or double them....you gameplan against agressive inside rushers by runing traps....if a DL is known to hard charge at the passer, you install screens and draws to take avantage of that aggression...coem on IM, these are pretty basic football ideas, im disappointed.....
It appears the Anti-Wannsedt coalition is educating the masses. Dare I say BF1, beef, & I think so similarly that we are like the Corsican triplets?

You forgot to mention using the running back to chip the DE into the block....Tisk...Tisk Beef. lol
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Philly_Freak93)</div><div class='quotemain'>were obviously in a stalemate, so why keep arguing?</div> a stalemate?? Keep telling yourself that.....
u can avoid a DB, its the only poisiton you can avoid. DE-yea if u run right at them, but u cant do that every play and great DEs will get are to good to do that. DT-they are right in front of you, and to fast so they can get over on a sweep or a pitch. LBs-do everything, all over, unavoidable, DBs-far back, allways play the pass first, if u throw at the other corner the opp. side is being avoided, if u throw short, the S is being avoided because the LBs and CBs will get there fisrt, if u run, the S is being avoided. look, dawkins remains the best FS in the game, S can be avoided, and the eagles are better than your teams(dolphins, bears,) and will return to the NFCCG and advance. im not going to argue anymore, and wont even read this post anymore, so beef, you have your own choir to preach to.
Dawk; You have held up admirably defending what appears to be the wrong side of the argument. You could have quite a career writing minority opinions for the Supreme Court.
ok i lied. but what the hell doest that mean ba? the wrong side of the argument happens to be the majority on this site. its an opinion not a fact, and it happens that im the minority. u put more fans here, or if the other 20 people got in this argument i bet the sides even out. i still dont get if ur statement was a shot or compliment. explain please
his statement was a compliment...mine wont be as flattering.... the majority understands that players can be compared to other players by statistical analysis....you, for some reason dont think so....the bottom line is, CBs can be avoided, DEs can be avoided, DTs can be avoided, Safeties and LBs can not...they can be exploited, but not avoided....your FS god is not productive by elite standards, in fact hes not productive by average standards, so you can think hes great if you want, you will just be wrong....if you can accept that, then its all good...you got pretty personal with your comments, i detect a bit of frustration....one question for you Dawk, how many Vince Lombardi Trophies you guys have there in Philly?....Got any perfect seasons to hang your hat on? Any 16,000 yard rushers in team history? Did the Eagles ever go an entire playoffs without surrendering points? Do they have the best winning % in NFL history or have the won the most games in NFL history?....yeah the Eagles ROOL!!!!....I especially like that no Super Bowl winning thing, you guys must be proud....
so why do most people think hes the best FS in the game? why has he been to 3 out of the last 4 pro bowls? adn only darren sharper has? most people on this site dont think so, but analysists do, fans do, and players/coaches do. yea we have nothing in our franchise to be proud of, but everything u mentioned is in the past, when we win the SB in the next few years you will be wrong. bottom line is we are in 2004 now, and the eagles have the better team than your dolphins, and the bears. better chance. think what you want, im not changing my opinion, and its not based on being a eagles, fan, its based on watching him probly unlike you.
