Swept Durant Older teammates 100% love and follow him Game1 road win over defending champs Playoff stats not seen since Kobe, MJ, LBJ, Kareem, etc Carried horrific NBA franchise to best playoff start ever
You had me until the last point which isn't a point at all ... they aren't running out the all time rosters like some 2k game for the series. He has A LOT of help around him but he's still a damn fine ball player.
he may be top-5 right now...or not. But as long as Jokic & Giannis are in their primes and healthy, he won't be the best.
These "he's the new MJ" comparisons are out of hand. For one thing, he's not a giant screaming asshole and he praises his teammates and roots for them. Can you imagine the shit Jordan would've given Rudy Gobert the first time he bobbled one of his passes?
It's hilarious that last year after the TWolves flamed out in the first round, we were dissing them for the "stupidity" of the KAT/Gobert pairing. Now those guys look like a tag-team that can give Jokic fits and Ant looks like MJ. What a difference a year can make.
I asked mid season where all those trade haters were, crickets. People want instant gratification in this sports world (Scoot), and it just doesn’t work that way.
To be honest, this is what I didn't like about Dame/CJ. Now, I know they cared (CJ wouldn't commit all those chippy fouls otherwise), but the poker faces and lack of fun makes it harder to root for them. Here's hoping Scoot can become great, because he certainly shows his feelings in an endearing way.
So I'm guessing we would never find any "LaMelo Ball should've gone #1" type comments in your past, then?
I’m from the hood, but somebody needs to explain what Pierce is saying here. He said today’s players “DON’T PLAY WITH NO EMOTION”. I’m confused.
Not sure what you are emptying here sir/ma’am, but I wasn’t sold on LaMelo at all coming in. He’s been great though.
Tread lightly here. I mentioned he was probably top 10 (closer to 10) and got called out. Don't look at his PER because it's more important than the eye test. I think it is pretty clear this guy is ascending to top 5 land and may be there as early as next year.
I thought MIN way way overpaid for Rudy. On the other hand, Gobert is super predictable: perennial DPOTY type guy.
He may not currently be the best player but he's probably my favorite player right now. The guy is fun to watch.
maybe I'm missing something but this seems to be a pretty major overreaction to a small sample size. Edwards has been spectacular in these playoffs. But it's a 5 game sample size....5 games. Isn't this more likely a case of an elite player on a hot streak rather than a player ascending to #1? I mean, players like Jokic-Embiid-Giannis have been playing at MVP levels for 3-5 years. Ant has been doing it for 5 games
