Huh. I had the opposite reaction - that they didn't want to trade him to another WC team.

In this instance? Not behind an agents back.

I would hope the GM-franchise player relationship can sustain not having a mediator regardless of situation.

Then what’s the point of an agent? I’d get why he’d be pissed, especially since the GM told him he’d talk to ownership and instead called his client directly. That’s some slick shit.

ESPN can suck it if they think we're trading Nurk while he's injured.

Too much noise around Portland now, so it’s not happening. He’ll end up with the Clippers. That’s my prediction.

I don't think it will though. Zach needs to catch up offensively. Also, while being a very solid passer, he isn't at Nurk's level yet.

I can see Nurk throwing AD alley-oops.

I love Nurkic but I want a championship. I'm sure we'll get over Nurk if we can land AD.

Really? I work at the place I do now because my old supervisor (and good friend) recommended me.

Because of that, KOHLER has an amazing employee in me.

There's nothing wrong with that at all and I'm sure you just like most people have gained employment because of a connection.

That's not what's happening here. Lebron helped Paul get in the door-- there's nothing wrong with that.

But Paul is also trying to get other clients to play with Lebron, and trying to get his coach fired, and is leveraging his relationship with Lebron to push other moves. It's collusion.

It will definitely backfire on him eventually. I’m not sure it’s collusion because he’s just an agent, not a GM/President.

Hell, no GM is gonna give him any favors because he is friends with LeBron anymore anyway. LeBron is done, this is his final ride, no reason to suck up to him and his clients anymore.

I get that it appears that way. I don't know if there's anything really wrong with it though. I think it's just different, for a long time it's been the players wielded power but didn't know how much they had, and were kind of told how and when they could use it. The teams/league kind of held the keys, LBJ has kind of paved the way for players to understand what kind of power they actually have. Rich Paul, in my opinion, is definitely an extension of that. I think what we've learned the last few years is that the NBA (and even in other sports but not as much) its players, it's fans, it's teams, it's agents are all definitely out for their own interests and while it's always been that way everyone's kind of shoved aside any subtlety about it. We have a guy in Kawhi now about to win a championship saying he doesn't really care about the fans at all, and it's alright he doesn't have to, but it's different, things have changed.

I think what ultimately is scary isn't that things are changing but now we have.
The NBA - looking out for themselves.
The Players - Looking out for themselves.
The Teams - Looking out for themselves.
The Agents - Looking out for themselves
The Fans, etc, everyone is looking out for themselves because history has shown in the high stakes game of pro sports there is so much money involved that if they don't look out for their own interests they'll get taken advantage of by other people out to, "get theirs".

The problem is at the end of the day they all need each other to some extent, and if they publicly start cannibalizing themselves they'll all collectively take each other down, while "looking to get theirs".

I still think he'll ends up at the Lakers. They will find a way for a 3 Team Trade. I doubt Neil has the balls to offer CJ, Collins and future picks

    I feel the same with the Lakers honestly. I bet they get the Suns into a 3way and lay the groundwork for something like this;

    PHX: Lonzo

    LAL: AD and Hill

NOP: Kuzma, Ingram, Jackson/Bridges, #4, and future LAL picks.
