It would be hilarious to see national media being forced to talk about the Blazers. I bet if it happens they forget about it real quick though, kind of like Toronto with Kawhi, until they were forced to talk about it again.

I dunno man. I think Dame crushing OKC has gained us some national media traction. If we come out hot next season, we will be the talk of the NBA.

I'd MUCH rather have him than Solomon Hill.

How am I supposed to deal with this kind of news? Welp, no more work is getting done today, just refreshing internet sites.

I don't think New Orleans does that trade with Moore. They'd consider it with Solomon Hill because he's worthless. We can include Harkless because we'd have Batum and could still re-sign Layman and Aminu if we really wanted to. I freaking can't stand Batum when you consider his contract but if he helps us get AD then I'll welcome him back with open arms!

Maybe Charlotte wants Harkless. He’s an expiring, still only 26, and they’d get his bird rights. Pretty low risk.

This also works without the Mo/Moore swap.

Just spitballing this a bit further... If Lakers come up short this off-season, LeBron is going to want a trade. Would you swap Batum+Mo(or Moore) for LeBron?

lol hell ya. But I think if all else fails for Lebron, they'll trade for CP.

Why would the Lakers do that?

Looking at other teams potential offers I really can’t see anyone offering a more ideal package unless they dragged ina third team, at which point it gets real tricky.

Lakers- who’s the all star caliber player in their offer? Their offer is only attractive if you’re rebuilding.

Celtics- first off, why would they even go after AD if/when Irving walks? Why sacrifice Tatum? They’d also have issues matching contracts.

    Knicks- see Lakers.

    Nets- who’s the headliner?

    Clippers- see Nets.

Denver- this is a possibility, but the headliner here would be Gary Harris. He’s solid, but he’s not CJ and Collins is better than whoever else they’d offer up.

The list really dwindles down the more you look at it. Portland stands out because they have the motivation, the players, and multiple expirings to match $ and also to get other teams involved. They check the most boxes.

Nuggets was my only other alternative. I was thinking along the lines of Millsap/Murray/picks. They'd need to pick up Millsap's option first. Still think our potential package is better. But an AD-Jokic front court would be insane.

While this is all true, getting the 3rd or 4th pick might trump getting the 12th pick or worse. Guys like Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, Knox, DSJ, etc. could easily be packaged in other deals.

As soon as I read Wojs piece and what New Orleans is looking for in a return, I knew we were in. Doesn’t mean we’re going to get him, but that’s more so because Im not sure where Olshey stands. If he’s willing to offer up CJ and Zach, watch out. If New Orleans just wants to completely rebuild, forget it.

Sure, but it’s not easy. They’d have to find a team willing to trade an all star caliber player (or someone on CJs level) that New Orleans would also be interested in. Then they’d have to make the money work. The team with that all star player would also have to be going into a rebuild. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but good luck.
