    I'm just hoping and praying that the short leash from last night was a harbinger of Stotts being DONE with the Tolliver experiment.

    I think this forum needs to relax on the Tolliver bashing especially since it is only 3 games into the season and Stotts has adjusted his minutes accordingly. The guy has been an established veteran in the league and I expect there will be times he will show much better. This forum seems to need a player(s) to bash on.

    How about you post however you want about Tolliver, and everybody else does the same, without anyone telling any how they should post about any player in particular?

    I'll post what I've posted in the Collins thread since it actually belongs here, and I took the time to research something so I'm gonna milk it.


    Tolliver has shared the court with Dame, our best player by a wide margin, for 22 minutes. He is -28 in those
    Here are our other bench players with Dame in comparison:

    Simons: +6 in 18min
    Hezonja: +11 in 25min
    Bazemore: +11 in 53min
    Labissiere: +5 in 7min

    I've checked the starters too just to be sure, but no one is close to being in the minus while playing with Dame. -28 in 22 minutes is really an impressive feat.

    He is also -17 in 10 minutes shared with both Dame and CJ


    Conclusion: sit his ass down.

    I'm not sure 3 games is enough of a sample size (especially at the start of a season with a bunch of new parts), but it certainly hasn't been a great start for Tolliver. My biggest concern so far is not Tolliver but the perimeter defense as a whole.

    I am of the opinion that if Stotts believes Tolliver has a role he can play that Stotts should give him 5-10 games to see if it ever clicks before he bails on it. If it was the playoffs you have to react literally in a game, but the NBA season is so long, and some players just take longer to acclimate.

    I totally understand it has not been a good start, he's looked pretty bad, and has done basically nothing, I also wonder what the upside is, Tolliver isn't young, IMO they'd be better off developing young players if the production will be that bad, but I'm ok with Stotts giving it some time if he wants to see if it ever works. The real good news is this road trip will be at least a .500 one.

    Yeah, that's why it's pretty silly for you to be telling people that they shouldn't be posting their opinion however they want.

    Yes, you can post however you want, but if your post is ridiculous, it will be identified as such. Such is forum life.

    The first part of a season is suppose to be a feeling out time to see who and what works well together. There is no doubt that Tolliver has stunk so far and his minutes were adjusted due to that, but there could be a time he will get it and actually be productive. That's why coaches often go 10-11 deep in the early part of the season and then evolve into a more consistent rotation. Tolliver is the forum whipping boy right now and some are even using it as a way to bash Stotts.

    .571 TS%
    -2.2 BPM
    -o.1 VORP

    So, this may very well not just be a slump. His shooting percentages from outside, the one thing he does do, is streaky as shit too. Just look at his percentages by month last season

    What I said basically was relax on the bashing as it's only 3 games into the season. If you want to make premature opinions then so be it, but expect to be called out for "ridiculous" opinions as well.

    Please quote me correctly next time as well.

    So currently his PER is -9 so, it probably is a slump. Yes the bar isnt that high to begin with, and Im not sure theres an argument to be made there is a lot of upside there but going from 8.6 for a season to -9 is a slump...

    What TBF said and I'll add...

    Tolliver looks bad, and has his entire tenure with the Blazers, but he MIGHT have something to offer. I like what Stotts is doing in trying to get him acclimated. Shooters are nice to have. Although dude seems a step and a half too slow thus far...

    That being said, if we are going big at the 4 I'd rather see (I fucking love) Skal, or if we are going small then (sometimes Super) Mario. Those guys will potentially surprise, while everyone knows Tolliver's ceiling and it ain't half as high.

    A per of 8.6 isn’t good, so ok I guess he’s slumping from bad to awful. Either way, shouldn’t be on the court.

    An 8.6 is a slump and a sure sign someone shouldn't be playing in the NBA given his age, especially considering his apparent age.
