Dame gets hammered and slapped without a call WAY more than other players of his caliber. Watched Dwyane Wade and Harden and other superstars who you can't even breath on.
This topic is easily the stupidest shite ever. Refs don’t want the Blazers to win? Good lord almighty. You never hear anything when Dame gets superstar calls on here…. And trust me it happens twice a game easily. The calls even themselves out, always. For fucks sake. Next thing we’ll hear is we would have home court advantage this spring if it wasn’t for the refs.
I very much disagree. He gets a lot of VERY favorable calls - especially around the 3pnt line. In fact so much so that it annoys me because it disrupts the flow of the game. Dame definitely puts his time in whining to the refs to get those types of calls. Correct. Dame is #10 on Fouls Drawn per Game. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/misc?dir=A&sort=PFD Giannis, Embiid, and Doncic are far & away the top 3, which makes sense. They are all dominant. Looking at the rest of the list, I can't say that Dame is discriminated against. If anything - I would again argue that he & Trae Young get TOO many calls.
The Lakers game was definitely influenced by the refs letting LA's guards hack and grab in the third quarter - which is what Schroeder and Beverly are known for. Still no excuse to have blown that kind of lead - you have to be able to fight through that well enough - but it absolutely was a thing.
The Mar 14 loss to the Knicks is another example of a game strongly influenced against the Blazers by the Refs. The no-calls of Knicks fouls starting in the 2nd Q and accumulating through the 2nd half were enough to give the game to the Knicks. The timing of inconsistent foul calls, allowing the Knicks to clobber and bash the Blazers, and the psychological pressure of playing against 5 Knicks and 3 Refs were more than enough to do it. There were 16 more FT for the Knicks in the 2nd half than the Blazers! This is the home court. The Blazers deserve at least a fair chance at home!
Blazers were shooting jump shots. Knicks were driving hard at the hoop. foul discrepancy favors the aggressors
The third was worse than the 2nd foul wise. Almost every time down in the quarter it was free throws for the Knicks. The refs weren't hardly calling any shooting fouls on the other end, even though the Blazers were getting hacked inside and knocked to the floor. I was disgusted by the refs last night. They kept the Knicks on the line until they were up 10+ and failed to blow whistles on the other end. Finally, after a +10 point lead because of the free throw discrepancy, they called a couple for Portland. Screw the refs.
I know the Blazers have a lot of other problems. It's not all on the refs, but you can't win against a free throw discrepancy of 16. It broke the Blazers last night. They were in it, until the refs took over.
