Yes, I'll be there with a few friends and my brother. Booked our hotel weeks ago. Waiting on tickets for sides/stadium division to be announced and expect to pay upwards of $800 for a good seat. Air, have family that works for airlines and fly for free! :)

I'm not sure about pre-game festivities yet but they should be announced later. We're planning three days of fun.

Hey, regarding James and the draft....all season I've been insisting that James would stay because he has said he wants to graduate and that he is having the time of his life in Oregon, playing with his best friends (Barner). But, lately, there has been some "chatter" and I've heard from a good source that he's highly considering going. But, I'm not sure about lockout and if he'd be 1st or 2nd rounder. NFL seems to be going smaller. He might have enough upside for a team to use an early 2nd pick on. Really, I don't think even James knows yet. If he goes, it's not the end of the world with Barner and LS.

If any other Sports Two folks are headed down, it would be fun to chat and share notes. GO DUCKS!

You should understand that I've sold out to Barfo Candy, so the East Carolina logo is no longer in use. If I get a more lucrative deal, I will of course switch.

I just don't see any way I could get the money together. I wish I could go.

You have to question how serious of a Duck fan you are if you DONT go, especially considering the game is in Arizona (great weather, beautiful women). It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to see your team play for the National Championship.

I would without a doubt go if the Beavers ever made it to the national championship game in football or basketball. I still kick myself in the ass for not going to any of the Beaver national championship baseball games, and I dont even really like baseball.

I'm going but will have to buy game tickets. I have season tickets but couldn't get any tickets from the UO. I'm not missing this game.

I personally don't fault anyone who doesn't go based on budget issues. It's insanely expensive to go. Seriously, bad economy or not, $600-$900 for a single ticket is insane.

This is something my brother and I save for throughout the year and plan on doing every year we can --- be it Vegas Bowl with a 6 win Ducks team, or the NC game with a 12-0 season!!

If I couldn't afford tickets, I would still go - probably road-tripping to Glendale. I'd hit the tailgating area and ask around for any tickets for sale - might get lucky and get one at face value!

    Go Ducks!!

Stub Hub has ticket packages already up. They START at $700 for a ticket only. *sigh* I don't know if I can afford that + hotel + flight.

I think I'm going, barring some sort of work issues. A buddy of mine has 4 upper deck tickets and lives in Gilbert, which is about 30 miles from Glendale. I was actually in Glendale yesterday for the Rams/Cardinals trainwreck sporting a bright yellow Ducks' shirt. I was hoping the cameras would catch it, but I got a lot of "good lucks" and such from the fans at the game, and this was before the BCS standings came out.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn right by U of Phoenix Stadium last night, and we're staying there again the night of the BCS title game. There are about 8 bars right there at Westgate, and it will be going off. Hell, last night we were out until 1am at Westgate, and the bars were mostly full. The 6am flight to PDX wasn't fun, though, nor was trying to work today. There is also a large Renaissance Inn by the stadium as well.

Even if you can't get a ticket, it might be worth it just to go to Glendale and partake in the experience... especially if we win.

do you think I need a car there? Debating just flying and cabbing vs. driving up from LA vs. flying and renting a car.

If you stay in Scottsdale you'll want a car. Glendale is in the middle of nowhere.

5-6 hours. Only thing is I don't like putting miles on my car.

How much is a cab from Airport to Glendale? Once there, can I keep myself busy for 3 days?

No. You'll be bored after a day, but all of the "game" action will be at Westgate. It's basically just the stadium, a few hotels, and the bars and shops at Westgate. Scottdale is much more fun.
