Araujo is a beast. He also has a mid range game, which is a big plus when drafting a centre. As far as I know Biedrins game is mainly about rebounding and defence.
I would've went with Iguodala. But it's interesting to see where Araujo will go in the next few seasons, he could turn out to be a steal.

Matt Bonner was not drafted in this year's draft. Glen Grunwald got him in last year's draft and Bonner played in Italy for a season before making the roster this season.

About Biedrins, isn't that all we've needed from a center for the longest time, Biedrins is also supposed to be tough, not Araujo tough, but toughness, defense and rebounding would be great. Araujo isn't supposed to really be a good defender, but if he can improve on that and bring his rebounding I would be happy, no one needs him to score.

One of MoPete's strength is his outside shooting, which is imperative to the Raptors because it stretches the other teams defense. Also take into account that Mopete is coming off the bench playing the sixth/seventh man role perfectly. Mopete plays a role for the Raptors and he plays it well. Stats are telling but they really don't mean jack when talking about how a player fits into a teams makeup. Mopete is perfect for the offense that the Raptors want to operate. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">About Biedrins, isn't that all we've needed from a center for the longest time, Biedrins is also supposed to be tough, not Araujo tough, but toughness, defense and rebounding would be great. Biedrins is more of a Bosh-type power forward anyway, so I was alright with them not picking him. He wouldn't be helping out much in the long run, because we'd have Bosh. Watching him play in the Orlando game, I see that he has bad hands, like Moiso, and problems running the floor. However, he's got the big body, and if he learns how to use it properly he could be good.
Anyone else realized that Bosh doesn't set effective screens? His screens don't even work... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Your stats do not really say much about what I said. Three off the pick isn't a good shot Mo, it isn't a good shot
araujo = another michael bradley the organization is gonna think highly of him and he'll do nothing. araujo is just another stupid pick for the raptors and they had their share of them. i still can't believe they picked bradley over randolph.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sljigga325:</div><div class="quote_post">i still can't believe they picked bradley over randolph.</div> In all fairness to the Raps, Randolph was picked 19th and he is currently the best player from that draft (Gasol a close second), meaning 18 other teams passed up on him too. Back then Randolph was overweight and not nearly the player he is today. He was questionable and Portland got lucky that year.
looking at araujo when he's competing for a rebound....he can't jump for it and he screams like he got it.......iggy would've been a better pick for us, i say teach pape sow he could be better hehehe
We really need to stop drafting these white guys, they always end up sucking. The only one who has really done anything is Matt Bonner.
lol.... maybe I should also bring back the "Is Bosh a franchise player?" thread..... I too would be extremely happy if were wrong (and so far Bosh is proving me wrong)
I thank god for my stupidness today, whenever I say or hope for something it never happens. Same case here, if you look on PG.2 I said Araujo was the biggest raptors wasted pick ever, so that means bigger than Michael Bradley. But look at Araujo now, man he's doing good. I thank you stupidness for making good things happen.. Araujo is a good player but need's to work on his post play, but he'll be a good player in a year or two.
Well for me it was more dissapointment, but I guess we were hiding him on the bench to surprise the other teams, or in reality, he was just taking some time to adjust and learn.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Buckets:</div><div class="quote_post">I think that Rafael Araujo was the raptors biggest wasted pick ever, maybe even a worse pick by the raptors than Michael Bradley. We could've gotten someone proven for our pick like Dalembert or someone off a team like Chicago, Philly or maybe even Charlotte after the expansion. We could've had Jahidi White if the cap worked out and thats definitely an upgrade over Araujo. He was a wasted pick.</div> i know we didn't draft chris jefferies cuz we got him for kareem rush but jefferies is the worst we had....
I don't mean to brag but...... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtVision:</div><div class="quote_post">I think as long as Araujo listens to what Sam Mitchell wants from him, he will become a serviceable player. araujo was a terrible pick, Igoudala would even fit in Raptor's current roster much better. And i don't believe Araujo has much potential. In fact i don't see him improving much
