So you guys are saying we're going to have a shitty draft pick this year.

Yes, the Blazers have as good a shot as anyone to get the title.

This is the year. Next year, they will trade Matthews if CJ looks decent. Maybe a few other consolidation trades. I predict but changes.

It's too early to tell. I want to see how the new guys fit and how our younger guys have improved.

Yes. Our best players are in their prime, more or less. And the bench is much better than last year. They are built to sustain a long season/playoffs. Cheers to good health and the best record in the West!

You're mixing up smaller markets with mega superstars. Miami became a big market while Lebron was there.

Miami is a different kinda beast... Small technically, but people flock there because it's beautiful (full of beaches and bitches) and such a tax haven for multimillionaires.

No, I'm schooling BGD and his "small market" concept. Miami and SAS are still smaller markets than Portland and that's a fact. Of course superstars can make your team relevant, just like Lillard is currently with Portland

Solid team overall, barring injuries should fight, but I don't see them making it past the semis.

Depends on the matchup. If we get the Clippers or Thunder it's 50/50 to the WCF.

I think you can beat LA, I'd raise the odds to 40-60 in the Blazers favor, but OKC will be hard to contain if both Russ and Durant are ready to go.

Smaller local "markets", but bigger hype. Bigger hype means bigger national "market". And that's where the league's bread is buttered.

The reason why we match up so well with OKC is we have Aldridge vs Ibaka. Normally Ibaka can neutralize other PF with his defense, but gets spanked by Aldridge. Batum actually does pretty well against Durant and Matthews defends Westbrook well.

Most importantly, Lillard forces Westbrook to play both ends of the court

Westbrook don't scare us. Wes really frustrates him with his size and body control on defense.

Batum sure has the length to bother Durant, but you can't stop him. Russ is quicker than Wesley, however that may be evened out by Westbrook having to commit on defense.

This, with Lillards improving get to the rim game Westbrook has his work cut out for him. Especially considering the Thunder can't put Thabo on him anymore.

Stopping Durant isn't going to happen, no. Still, give him bad looks and lots of shots. Turn the game into an ISO-fest like the Grizzlies do against the Thunder.
