CB32 is right. We're the Boston Celtics. We have the most NBA titles of any team in the NBA. Mediocrity does not go with the Celtics.

Everyone went throught it, how about when we trade our ONLY hope of winning at that time for next to nothing? Anyways, I do enjoy seeing you guys suffer, I enjoy watching every team but the Raptors suffer in the NBA. I still dont hate you guys, I will root for you if the Raptors were out of the playoffs, Id watch your games, but I still enjoy seeing you suffer. I also want to add all franchise go through real bad playoff droughts. We missed it for 5 years, and we werent over .500 AT ALL for 2 1/2. Everyone has had their share of suffering. We also never been to the ECF, every team has their times.

There are plenty of dedicated fans here and in this world who have never experience a title, playoffs and probably some droughts. I mean look a what the Nuggets went through in those days when we were constantly one of the worst in the league. Now we aren't but still you guys aren't the new Red Sox. You failed to mention that you won 16 NBA Titles. A lot of teams haven't had one.

Ignorant fans with a false sense of entitlement just make the franchise look bad, and the Celtics have a lot of them.No team is SUPPOSED to be good. The Patriots have been so great for so long in the most competitive sports league because they have great management. The Celtics have had at best mediocre management for the past decade. It's at times been downright awful.But it's not just bad management. Len Bias and Reggie Lewis dying absolutely killed the franchise in the 90's, and then losing out on Duncan killed us for the beginning of this decade. Then just when things were looking Danny Ainge comes along and blows up the team. Granted some changes did need to be made, but getting rid of our second best player for a guy with frequent knee injuries and alienating the best head coach the team had since the 80's were not the moves most fans had in mind. In reality it's just a string bad luck and poor management that make being a Celtics fan so woeful. Just when things start getting better something causes them to take a turn for the worse.The Red Sox were also notorious for bad luck, bad management, and just fluke things stopping them from winning a title. The comparison is accurate. It's not just about having a drought, it's about WHY the drought is happening and how easily things could be completely different.
BCB you made some good points. We shouldn't be good just because we're the Boston Celtics but when you say we are going through bad scenarios that every franchise goes through you are dead wrong. The Celtics have had mind boggling misfortunes occur in the past two decades.Still, Boston fans are some of the most loyal fans in the nation and they tend to embellish negative mishaps, I'm even guilty of that. It's just the way it goes.
