So, if only people who agreed with your view of government were allowed to be elected, things would go more the way you want? Sounds reasonable.
I think you'd probably hate living in the colonies in the 1700s honestly. Everything infested with bed bugs and lice. People didn't bathe. No anti biotics. No sewage systems. Yuck dude
So what the fuck are you getting at? Your OP was just trying to bait me to talk about Trump? I told you what I believe can unite us. I don't give a flying fuck that you don't! Lol My meme was perfect for you. I have a very detailed reason why I believe we are divided, then your response are baits and digs? Oh please Do you think the nation is divided? Do you think legislation is in agreement with the people of America?
My post had nothing to do with Donald, nothing to do with you, but had to do with how people on TV/government are telling us that Obama divides us, but have nothing to show for other than the fact they said it. And then the people who hear it, repeat it and then cite stuff pulled out of their asses. Did you even read my post? I pretty much said that the majority of us aren't divided, it's those in the government who have created their own division. The Republicans have refused to work with Obama and have done a masterful job of blaming him and conning rubes into believing it was his own doing.
Here's @Rastapopoulos question... Do you like pizza? - rasta Yes - mags Only a trump fan would like soda - rasta
No wonder everything is so difficult. I think we see entirely different images when prompted by even simple words. When you say "Progressive", I think ignore the Constitution. When I say Constitution, you think, well life sucked in the 1700s so we never needed the Constitution.
We are easily a divided country. People don't make personal connections anymore and have adopted a "if you're not with me, you're against me" mentality. It's sad, we can't discuss anything without finger pointing and playing the blame game. Every one has an opinion and no solutions.
Well you need to understand what it is you seek. Change is not necessarily progression. For instance, most of you Progressives seek to sock it to the someone else with higher taxes. That would be change but not progression since we had much higher taxes before. What you seek is actual regression, to the good old days of snatch it all.
Democrats ran Joe Lieberman for VP. Raved about him. Four years later, they chased him out of the party. Too conservative. Republicans have chased out a few RINOs, but several do remain. McCain, for one. The parties have distanced themselves from one another to provide some sort of distinction. The saying goes, why vote for a conservative democrat when you can vote for a real republican. They're both owned by special interests, but nobody is surprised by who those interests are. The voter can take that into account and vote accordingly. Unfortunately, both parties are wrong on about half the issues. Otherwise Gore would have won huge without resorting to releasing W's DUI a couple days before the election. Or this election wouldnt be close (ObamaFatigue, Clinton fatigue). Republicans do have the edge on pocketbook issues, or this wonderful summer of recovery v6.0 would assure a democratic landslide. The electorate does seem to be engaged way earlier than in prior elections. Are we divided? General public? Not that much, but many are too stupid to consider voting for the conservative democrat or the liberal republican because of the letter D/R next to their name.
There use to be quite a few of those, but where is today's crop? I can't imagine the Democrats running one now, but no matter, Can't think of one. Perhaps Joe Biden but some other label comes to mind before conservative.
