Hmm, but some of your like minded constituents on here vehemently assert that their insulting opinions are the truth.

Hey HG. I do think it's important to note that while some of us can sit back and ride the waves of public sentiment without getting our clothes wet, someone like @SportsAndWhine doesn't have a choice. And that is a disgrace and an embarrassment, in my opinion.

EDIT: Read @crandc's post above. She articulated it better.

    EDIT: Much better.

I'm sure most Americans do not think they are better off today.

I bet most did three months ago. Trump's been a shit show in how he's managed Covid and that's on him, but our economy would be in the tank because of the virus no matter who was president.

Yes, but the question was about "now".

Well, then it's a stupid and slanted question. Gee, that's surprising around here.

It's a legitimate question asked by many I would assume, especially when considering whether a sitting POTUS deserves 4 more years....I don't see how is it slanted.

Again, we're talking about today's situation and yes, I'm sure there would have been problems regardless of who the POTUS is, but early Trump's lack of acknowledgment/action on the virus exacerbated the problem even more, and I don't think there's any way to deny that.

True, virus would impact economy regardless but a competent president would not have spent weeks saying it's a hoax, boasting about his greatness, denying science, promoting conspiracy theories. Compare impact in other countries with good leaders, conservative and liberal alike, who reacted seriously and data based. We are much worse off in death and economy.

As someone who's said multiple times on this forum/anyone irl who asks. I cannot support either the democrats nor the republicans.

I do however have both die-hard democrats and republicans in my family.
When Obama was the president the die-hard republicans would say constantly.
''I was far better off before Obama became president. Siting x random thing as proof.'' Which could be true or not. Doesn't matter.
The one I heard all the time is how much division Obama created.
Now that Trump is president I have die-hard democrats constantly repeating the same rhetoric that the die-hard republicans said during the previous administration. To be clear. Again truthful or not. Doesn't matter.
The one I hear all the time is how much division Trump creates.

When you are a die-hard republican/democrat. You will always believe when your party looses an election. That you are worse off.

As an independent. I am not swayed nor impressed with political grandstanding. Quite easy to tune you out when you partake in this.

I’m no knight but this @THE HCP pushback is bizarre to me. The guy makes jokes! And people don’t get them sometimes! Is that his fault? I don’t think so.

There are some funny motherfucker in here: @HailBlazers @THE HCP @SlyPokerDog @barfo and the list goes on and on and on. Humor is what makes us human that’s why even though @EL PRESIDENTE rubs me wrong from time to time, I still (begrudgingly) think he’s funny.

For those learning to be more lighthearted: when in doubt, assume it’s a joke.

Hmm, taking in your previous post, if some one came at me because I told them to stop making threads cause they are a rookie and their word means nothing because i'm a big deal around here, I would then say whoa. Sorry man. Not call them Francis and escalate the misunderstanding.

I then wouldn't go public falsely accusing another of trying to cause issues with their job and family.

That, to me is not a joke and should be owned up to, but it isn't.

So as bizarre as it may seem to you, there are others who have seen and felt the other side as well.

Anytime I make a joke, or try to and it is misunderstood, I make amends. I don't double down.

Wouldn't being kind be wanting to straighten out a misunderstanding rather than compound it?

I agree hcp can be funny at times.
But if someone asks him to not joke with them. To not call them something as they find it offensive. Literally using THOSE exact words.
For HCP to then continue to berate that person in multiple threads. For him to call his ''forum buddies'' to defend him.
Say he's not wrong and doesn't understand why he can't use x word towards someone.
Is awfully similar to someone who is now a banned member on this forum. Trying to use my former moniker as a reason why he should be allowed to use x word.

I greatly dislike it when I read an HCP comment. Simply because I believe due to his actions on this forum. He's not a good person. Where some people believe he is. That's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I'm positive there are people who greatly dislike reading my comments. Simply because they don't believe I'm a good person.
Where there are some members of this forum who've paid to have their children enrolled in classes I was/am the director of. They and their children believe I'm a good person.

As I said I have HCP on ignore. I made this mistake this morning of reading the forum not-logged in. Then the further mistake of responding to his ironic comment.
