<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK -- Gilbert Arenas celebrated his second All-Star Game appearance this month. Now he can celebrate his second straight player of the week award. Arenas earned the Eastern Conference honor after averaging 35.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals in Washington's three wins after the All-Star break. He shot 58 percent from the field and 57 percent from 3-point range. Arenas scored 34 against Minnesota on Tuesday, followed up with 26 points and nine assists Friday against Cleveland and then scored 46 -- two off his career high -- despite sitting out the fourth quarter in a rout of New York on Saturday.</div> Source
Well deserved. Like I said before, since he was left off of the all-star team originially, he's going to come out and play this half of basketball with a chip on his shoulder. That is one scary thought...
Even though we lost tonight, he had 37 points, 12-21 FG, 4-6 3PT, 9-11 FT. Arenas is just on a tear right now. Arenas will probably win POM this month. Excluding yesterday's game he's averaged 31.4 PPG | 3.4 RPG | 5.4 APG | 2.2 SPG | 44.6% FG | 38.1% 3PT, and the Wiz went 8-4.
The other player in the East I thought would compete for POTW/POTM was Wade. Here were Wade's stats for Feb: 30 ppg 6.6 apg 6 rpb 55.7% from the floor 8-2 for the month

Wade will probably get POTM, it's between him and Arenas, but Wade his him beat in about every area, and also has a better winning%. Pierce is doing good numbers wise, but doesn't quite have the wins part down.

In Friday's win over the Knicks, Arenas scored 46 points, shooting 13 of 16 in only 30 minutes of play.
