I'm actually happy Arenas said this. He finally gets some attention.

An eye for an eye is never a class act. I really don't care what comments Gilbert makes. I don't hate Gilbert for it either. These types of comments are what fuels Kobe to continue to be the best. I'm sure he'll take them personally during their next matchup.[IMG]

Arenas never let's things go, but as someone who knows how he is, I'm not too surprised at this. He still can't get over the fact that he doesn't get ranked with guys that he probably should at least get mentioned with. What he has to realize is that he had no hype coming into the leauge, he's not 6'5+, so no Jordan comparisons, he's not a highflyer, and he doesn't have the gangsta image. He just doesn't have the attributes to get ranked with them.

About his comments, he's not lying, he did have better numbers for their first 6 years. The differences? After 6 years, Kobe was the same age as Arenas was in 04-05 when he put up 26-5-5. Arenas had no hype coming into the league, and no one thought his potential was even close to what it is now. Kobe played on much better teams than him due to having better players on his team.

His numbers his first 6 years don't blow Kobe's out of the water. They're about at the same level. And Kobe was doing it on a winning team, in LA, and he was much younger. Of course he's going to get more hype.

He is gonna try to score 100 next time the Wizards play the Lakers.

Maybe he does it if the game goes into triple overtime.

I think Gilbert would get some notice if he did that.

Gilbert is that type of player. He isn't gonna let something go just like that.
