<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheCh0sen0ne238:</div><div class="quote_post">they really coulda used him...arenas is a flatout great shooter which they needed horrible while lebron was brickin' them the whole game..what a mistake</div> Yessirreebob they could have. Nails his FT's as well.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AMS_ice:</div><div class="quote_post">Arenas has to grow up. To be in the U.S. Team means sacrifice, and willing to play as a team. Arenas has to face the fact that he is not in the same level as Lebron or Wade. He said that he did everything for the team, that's what it's all about. What's with faking an injury? How immature is that? If he thinks he's the best out there, he'd better look around before he's head gets too big.</div> Do people not read? He didn't fake an injury, he actually got injured, just that he didn't know how serious it was, and then when he went to tell D'Antoni about it, D'Antoni told him he was on the bubble anyways, and could go home. Arenas did not print the report about him leaving because of injury. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"The disappointing part was talking to Colangelo and he said, 'I heard you want to go home,' " Arenas said. "I told him that I was hurt but I didn't know how serious it was and that I didn't want to hold up a spot for somebody else. He told me, 'I've been talking to the coaches and you're on the bubble anyway, so you can go if you want.' I was like, all right."</div>
No doubt about him being a baby for answering the reporter. Arenas has still not learned that it's okay to give the cliche "I love to play for my country" answer, and that you can't always say what you're thinking. He's still not fully matured.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheBlackMamba:</div><div class="quote_post">Outside of og15, many of you guys know nothing about Arenas. Calling Carmelo a better player than him is ridiculous? Carmelo can't even make an all-star game (I hate judging how good a player is on this statistic, but I find it funny). Carmelo beats Arenas out in is post scoring and rebounding; because he's much bigger than Arenas. Arenas is a better scorer, almost as clutch as Carmelo, a better shooter, passer, and is becoming a better leader. They're both great players, but calling Carmelo better is absurd. Like og said, Wade and LeBron are better, but not Carmelo.</div> So you are saying that what Carmelo did and is doing for Team USA, Arenas would have done it better? Switch Melo with Arenas. Put Melo on Wizards and Arenas on Nuggets. Who's team will be better? Melo is a better 1 on 1 player and a better team player. Arenas in my opinion would definetly have not done what Melo did for Team Usa. Even though he didn't make the all-star team, he will definetly make it this year. He wasn't just ready last year to make the team. Now he has shown all the people that he is capable of making the team by doing so good in USA's games. So Melo is definetly better than Arenas. I heard someone said that only Wade and Lebron are better, not Melo. I think you guys are saying that since both of those players have led their team somewhere, which is true, but Melo is doing the same thing.

Besides, no one would really know how well that would turn out anyway, so I don't really see it making a point on how Carmleo is better. You also can't really compare Arenas with Carmelo. Carmelo is strictly a 3 while Arenas is a combo guard, they both do different things for their teams and they both play different positions. Unless you figure out a way to prove to me that Carmelo is less selfish than Gilbert, I can't really acknowledge the fact that Anthony's a good "team player" either since that statement is a little too vague. I also don't think that playing well for team US doesn't really show that he's capable of making the all-star game. Really it was simply because the West has so much depth at the foward spot, which really limits his chances of making it.
