whoa, hold up. back to trevor. i was never a magic fan until this season (b/c of jj redick). so i want to know, is trevor a good player and all that stuff?
Trevor is a player who has shown a lot of potential to be great. There were times last season when would put up double doubles with barely any playing time. He is extremely athletic but also very raw offensively. He needs to work on his shooting consistency but he should be a good answer for our SF spot when Hedo is done in Orlando.
Alright, thats good to hear. Hopefully he'll help us do well next year. I say that we have a shot at the playoffs this season. I mean, just look at the run they made late last season. If the keep that up, we'll be doing alright.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gee_Dupe11:</div><div class="quote_post">makes since but i totally 4got the person in the whole thread....Trevor Ariza These are all the people playing the 2 and the 3 Grant Hill JJ Redick Kenyon Dooling Trevor Ariza Keith Bogans Hedo Tuckagwhatever Trevor Ariza even throught Hedo is a Better player then JJ right now JJ is a better Shooter IMO Grant Hill is the deff. the starter at the 3 So you bring Hedo of the Bench at the 2 and 3 to make Opp. Team Bench have problems and also bring Trevor Ariza at the 2 and 3 to do some Damage but Keith Bogans can play but the problem is where will find himself in the rotation unless Trevor is not trusted. but he is thats why they re-sign him but they Sign Keith Bogans 4 Grant Hill insurance. But at the same time Hedo maybe not be a good a shooter as JJ but he can Flat out Shoot the ball and hes like 6'10 right. So Hedo can bring height to the lineup still cause problems. and JJ can come from the bench and cause problems for other teams too. and Trevor brings height as well. so your right the line-up should be like this Jameer Hedo Grant Dwight Darko</div> I am absolutely against Grant Hill starting for us. We've continued to try him starting and giving him 30 mins or so and he gets hurt. Give him 20 minutes off of the bench at the start and then if he progresses around the all-star break, then reevaluate. If the Magic are doing good, then keep it the same way, but just up Grant's minutes. If the Magic are struggling and need a change to jump start them, then put him into the starting lineup with about 25-30 mpg. This is exactly what the Cavs did for big Z. They brought him back slowly, something we have to do for Grant, so that he will be healthy and can be a key factor in the hunt for a playoff spot. My lineup.... PG-Jameer/Arroyo/Dooling SG-Bogans/Ariza/JJ SF-Hedo/Hill/Ariza PF-Dwight/Augenstein or Gortat C-Darko/Battie
Nice Lineup i can see big things outta that ooo JJ deep in the lineup....looks like he wont make the rotation
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gee_Dupe11:</div><div class="quote_post">Nice Lineup i can see big things outta that ooo JJ deep in the lineup....looks like he wont make the rotation</div> Well that's just me. I don't like JJ that much and with his back problems. I think Ariza has better potential than him anyway and SG seemed like a more defensive position. I still think JJ will get a good 15-20 mpg.

There is no way Ariza will be ahead of JJ in the depth chart UNLESS Redick gets seriously injured. And even if he does get hurt, I can't see them putting Ariza as the backup over Dooling.

I don't see why Ariza won't be ahead of JJ. Like I said, I think Ariza has more potential then JJ. He is a much better defender, much better rebounder, more unselfish, he's just not as good of a shooter, but can penetrate and create for his teammates. I just see Ariza as more of a pure playmaker then JJ and I want the playmakers on the court. I'm also not counting on Hill to be on the floor for that long, so JJ and Ariza will likely be the 2nd team anyway.

Ariza isn't a shooting guard. He may be big and athletic but he is best cut out for the SF position. I think we will start Bogans at the two, and bring Redick off the bench when it comes to our SG position. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting GatorsowntheNCAA:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't see why Ariza won't be ahead of JJ. Ariza wouldn't contribute as much offensively or spread the floor like Redick does. Also, like I said before, Ariza is a small forward. He is a better defender and rebounder but he is also a better small forward than shooting guard.
This is an absolutely attrocious comparison, but does Ariza's body type slightly remind you of McGrady's? McGrady is obviously a better ballhandler, passer, shooter and practically any other category you can name, but Ariza's body and raw athleticism sort of remind me of T-Mac when he was with Toronto and his skills weren't as fully developed.

His size and athleticism remind me of McGrady's and I was actually going to bring that up in my last post. He has the size of McGrady but his inconsistent offensive game would make it very hard for him to switch to the shooting guard positition.
