I love this signing for the pure entertainment factor alone. Even if we don't get a ring (not possible IMO), at least we got one last year.

I've wanted Ron Ron on the Lakers ever since 2005 when we kept getting punked by the Suns. I admit I sort of hated the idea at first, because of how much I grew to like Trevor. But seriously, Kobe-Gasol-Artest-Bynum-Odom. Yeah, keep hating. That team won't back down from anybody, and we're stacked.

i agree with you on this... now Ariza will really be tested... they should have grabbed what the Lakers had offered in the 1st place seriously... i would have been just as happy to see trev resign with us instead of acquiring artest...

For want of a ring??? i think he would and he should... Kidd has 'enough' money to make him and his family happy... he should now pursue what he doesnt have.

Kidd - Kobe - Ron - Pau - Drew

A little over the top suggesting Kidd sign for the LLE.

He'll sign Dallas' deal or he'll sign the Knicks deal.

ahahaha he isn't gonna be a role player in Houston, hes gonna be the STAR, once McGrady goes down/gets traded for expiring contracts it's gonna be his and Brooks doing the bulk of the offense, what a joke. This is the best possible thing, we get Artest who could've gone to the Cavs and Ariza goes to a nothing team that won't affect us

Agreed, but let's say he did sign with LA. One year contract, and a ring. Then he proceeds to bolt to NY for more money, and possibly an opportunity to play with Wade, Lebron, or Bosh. Win-win?

the lakers added more talent, but they didn't get better. artest isn't a role player and isn't going to be able to play like one.

ariza is going to look bad for the rockets initially, but if yao ever gets healthy or if not, when the rockets get a top pick in this draft, ariza will pay off as a good role player down the road.

i will guarantee you that the lakers won't win a championship with artest on the team and that kobe will have artest moved before his contract is up.

If Lakers won't win a championship next season, I seriously doubt it will be because of Artest. Just offering my opinion.

Showing your true colors. We go from lateral move to bust with this? Artest is better. He won't need to take as many shots, and if he does he'll still probably be better.

i haven't changed my stance that it's a lateral move. i don't think the lakers win the championship next season by making a lateral move this year. the lakers absolutely deserved their championship this year, but at the same time garnett was out, manu was out and duncan wasn't healthy, yao got injured against the lakers. it's not like they were going up against the healthiest and best of the best. that's nothing to take away from their title, but could take away from their chances next year.

did i guarantee that? i don't recall. i didn't think the lakers would win the title, i thought that would be cleveland. but going into the playoffs, with garnett hurt, i would have had the lakers 2nd. and when cleveland went down to orlando i definitely thought the lakers would win.

this year though, i think the lakers will likely be better than the cavs(assuming odom resigns).
