But we don't need scoring from the end of our bench, do we? I'm not a HUGE Johnson fan, but I think he has some potential. He will almost certainly never be a big-time scorer, but as he's a PG that is just fine with me. I think that he has really good size and seems to have good defensive skills. If his decision-making improves and his shooting gets a tad better, he'll be a pretty good player. I'll take that possibility over having someone who's more mature scoring the basketball right now. Ed O.
He's at the end of the bench. No player is providing anything right now from the end of the bench. There's no one good enough as a street free agent that we can put into our lineup and get scoring punch from, IMO. Given that fact, we should have the best prospects occupying the end of our roster. Ed O
No link in the thread, so I'll give one. http://www.kolotv.com/sports/headli...emoted_To_NBA_D-League_114820769.html?ref=769
Ah, I found the source article. Armon plays tonight at 6 pm Pacific time. Games are online. I watched that way when I ran a game thread for Babbitt's first Stampede game. article http://www.nba.com/dleague/idaho/johnson_110128.html
Actually they need both badly if they plan to win. As for Johnson I see him as more of a career backup in the mold of an Eric Snow type point IF he's able to put it together. Which really has nothing to do with the team's long-term scoring needs in the; I'm hopeful that they'll eventually draft or trade to fill those needs, but that doesn't preclude Armon from providing defense and running an offense.
i was lookin at the roster sheet at last nights game and you know who leds our team in 3pt shooting? armon johnson....hes only 5 of 11 but still. i dontknow why people dont think he can shoot? he finishes well with his left too.
Armon needs to get as much PT as possible in a game situation, because in a few weeks, he just may be the back-up PG behind Mills if Miller is traded.
They should both spend the whole season in the D-League. Unfortunately, with the injuries, it's not in the cards.
Nobody is talking about how he will be hangin with and getting life and career advice from one Antoine walker!
1st quarter just ended, box score and link to live video http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/20110128/FWNIDA/gameinfo.html I just started watching. They say he's explosive, but doesn't know his teammates yet. He's on the floor. Got stuck in midair with nowhere to go.
Armon wearing a white headband, as are a couple of teammates. Coach Randy Livingston allows them. Armon looks tall. Must be a short league.
He sure thinks like a PG. He's not trying to score. I think they expected a Patty Mills. Antoine Walker made a tough spin shot. They say he's lost weight in his 12 games, returning to playing shape.
