Holmgren's knees/legs won't be able to withstand it. He rode the bench a lot during the playoffs, rested large portions of the game. Injury is when not if.

If Chet is just a role player, how are we gonna feel maxing out Scoot and Sharpe soon.

    Gulp.

We better not do that to either. They aren't even worth close to that. Very mid players.

Or do it right and have a damn tournament. Bring all the teams out, single elimination and let them go at it.

You expect them to be in the Top 5?

I don't believe the salaries have changed at all the last 15 years. It's all the same percentages of the cap.

    I really like the cup.

If you don't like it why do you follow it? Just consider the games regular season games.

Disagree - it's great that they are also regular season games. It would be stupid to have it be any different.

Will be super exciting if some year the Blazers go to Vegas for the semifinal/finals.

Now what I don't understand is the point of the all-star game or weekend.

No - OKC DEN HOU MIN GSW are top5 IMO. It will be very hard for the Lakers to compete with any of those teams in a playoff series. Lakers don't have enough defense.

If us and the Spurs have a good start to the season this will be a crazy deep group.

Unfortunately I think it's very obvious we are the worst in the group.

Oh certainly agree. The great thing about the cup is its a crazy small sample size. Blazers were 2-2 in the cup last year. Maybe this year we get a game at home we somehow squeak a win out, than an opponent which is injured and we win that too. We lose 3rd game but that opponent isn't leading the group.

So certainly very possible a situation such as that plays out where we find ourselves in a final 4th cup game winner take all with a 2-1 record. Thats all I want to see, a couple games that "mean something" to me and others that are following the cup. Would be super exciting if we're able to be playing those couple games with a chance to go to Vegas. We win two cup games and I'll start looking into possible flights/hotels.

Two years ago did you really care about regular season games in November that much? I just don't see any downside to the cup. You either like it and follow a tad more than normal games - or you ignore it and just think of them as regular season games.

The extremely hideous obnoxious ugly distracting courts are my #1 complaint about it.
    Hard to ignore those. :bgrin:

    To each their own - I found this to be one of the best courts I've ever seen with the Blazers or even in any basketball game;
