I'm not so sure he is gone. If you don't read between the lines and just look at it from the basic facts and thats he is cleared by the Spurs medical staff who misdiagnosed him earlier in the season and returned him to play to early in 2014, so he got a second opinion. He hasn't been cleared from the doctor who gave him the second opinion and is rehabbing in NY for next season.

    My Kawhi Conspiracy Theory:
He got miffed after LA got pampered. He was the heir apparent, and then LA came in and not only got Pops to treat him with kid gloves, but got Pops to make him the center of the offense. Pops did this knowing it was a lose/lose situation - either they lose because LA pouts and they have to sit on his contract, or they lose by playing through an inefficient player. Knowing this he told Kawhi "We're going to do this. We're not going to be very good. But LA will get his numbers, which will make him tradeable. At the end of the season LA will either realize that he isn't a #1 option and will finally accept his role playing behind you or we'll trade him. Meanwhile, you rehab so you're ready for next season - this season is a write-off."

It's possible but Parker and Ginobli are other center points in their offensive schemes.

If that was true why would the Spurs sign Aldridge to an extension last summer then?

I dunno - they've made a couple of questionable moves recently, starting with signing LA!
Perhaps they view an LA under contract (post Pops-image-rehab) as being more valuable on the trade market than an expiring contract LA?

But Kawhi doesn't mind sharing with the vets that were in place before he joined the team. The vets who are also willing to be dressed down by the coach.

Giannis better start winning, you are on the East. Even though, Davis has only 1 postseason win.

Was so impressed by the Raptors last night, amazing performance from them. Really impossible not to like that team and their incredible fans, and this year they actually have a chance to win the whole thing. They are the best team in the East currently, are great at home and would have the homecourt advantage over Warriors if they meet in the finals.

I am definitely adopting them and Sixers in the East.

Attention Dame Lillard: Just Watch Lebron how he attacks game 2 after dropping game 1 at home. That’s what greatness and being an All-Star is alll about. Watch and Learn.

LeBron is better than Dame. Everyone agrees. And he is tougher to guard. And the Pacers have already cut it to 6.
