    CJ has played his entire career in the western conference. Back court positions have been tough to come by.

    good point, but I think it's really more about team success. If we had more team success, CJ would have been an allstar already.

    they aren't so easy to come by in the East either. Last season:

    Trae Young, Kyrie Irving, Darius Garland, LaMelo Ball, Jrue Holiday, Tyrese Maxey, Zach LaVine, Jaylen Brown, Bradley Beal, James Harden, DeMar Derozan, Marcus Smart, Fred Van Vleet, Jimmy Butler, Khris Middleton

    going back back 5 years:

    Kyrie Irving, Isaiah Thomas (averaged 29 & 6 that year), Kemba Walker, John Wall (before the injuries), Kyle Lowry, Demar Derozan, Victor Oladipo (before the injuries), Jimmy Butler, Khris Middleton

    the East was weaker at guard 5 years ago, but still had at least 5 high level guards

    There’s always talent in both conferences but we’ve had years in which 5 of 6 all nba guards were from west.

    Unless the Pels are the top team in the west, CJ still won't be an all-star. Either he'll be the 3rd-best player on the team behind Zion and Ingram, or one (or both) of those top two will be injured and the Pels won't be good enough for CJ to warrant an all-star nod.
