Because they don't need more offence. They need better team defense. And they made the playoffs this year. Doesnt matter, that team os going down anyhow...In two years they will be like the 94' Denver nuggets ( I think it was 94', maybe late 80's). Averaging 140 ppg but have a 20-62 record...

And still not make 3rd team All NBA. Voters no longer just look at scoring average when filling out their ballots. The most important stat is wins, but they also value things like leadership, defense and teamwork.

All I can think is that the only geometry L3onar_ cares about is sphere-->arc-->circle.

    Geometry - Angle

I think MM is saying if Olshey were smart he'd teach Meyers how to get himself on the Rockets.

I think if Olshey were smart he wouldn't match anything above how he see's Meyers fitting into the salary equation. He's probably the most likely RFA not to be a Blazer next season.

I've been listening to a lot of outside people talk about the Blazers and they think Leonard is the one who will get the most money out of our RFAs.

I think fans have been somewhat lopsided and bias because they want so much more. Meyers is what he is so far and what he is is still valuable. a 7ft with a 3pt shot. How many are even in the league? 5? 7?

He has value, but its about his role, how much he thinks he should have vs how much he can actually provide for us as a better team. That will dicate his money. Dont think for a moment that the Blazers are writing him off as a lost cause.

Meyers is a great player to fill a role, but all our bigs are "fill a role" bigs. I'd like Meyers back if we move one of Plumlee and Davis and grab an actual starter. I don't think he should be a priority. Definitely a wait and see type of player.

Yeah, I'd keep two of those three (hopefully Ed being one of them!).

In a vacuum I think Ed is the worst player (or least dynamic) of the three. But I agree, I do like him the best.

In a vacuum maybe, but his PER was the best of the three (he had the second best PER on the team). He's being used the best in our current system.

Least talented would probably be most accurate. Ed is consistent. He gives you the same thing day in and day out, but the upside isn't there, and can get played out against certain players.

What would be a decent offseason though? Howard is gone, I doubt Durant or Horford walk through that door either. So who are they going to go after to become better? In all honesty I see them landing Ryan Anderson and going after some Mike D guys like Barbosa and Amare while bringing back Jones and Motiejunas.

    Beverley / Barbosa
    Harden / Brewer
    Ariza / McDaniels / Dekker
    Anderson / Jones / Harrell
    Capela / Motiejunas / Amare

Exactly. That team is spiraling. Is a known cancer to the rest of the league. They will not be able to bring in anyone and it will be the Harden show. He will lead the league in scoring and Houston will be a cellar dwellar.

They're the mid 2000s Sixers right now when AI was putting up 30 burgers left and right but the team was stuck in the mud.

Yeah, he's not a starter on a championship team, but he is a perfect 7th man for us.

I think the only thing that needs to be said is Harkless > Leonard and since I believe it will come down to 1 of the 2 I'm taking Harkless every time. That's not a slight on Meyers, he has a spot on this team, but I don't think the role he fills is worth the price he will come at.
