NBA stars make much more per year on average then stars from other leagues. Reason Charlie Ward picked Basketball over Football

I feel like it's been great. No sweep on either side. I still believe any of the 4 teams can win esp since Houston has game 7 at home. Cleveland/Boston series is about to get very interesting. Why must a game be close for it to be a good game? I love blowouts when I'm rooting for the team that's on the good side of the blowout. Teams are exchanging blows. It's good competition. Would someone prefer sweep with all close games? This isn't all directed at you, BonesJones.

Yes, I would. The individual games are boring. How is watching the 2nd half of a 25point blowout fun?

There is an incentive to stay. The super max. You can only get it with the team that drafts you. And it IS a crap shoot to get the #1 pick. Memphis tanked the most but only got the #4 pick. The order of ping pong balls was franchise changing.

I would prefer 6 or 7 game series's that are good games. It's awful competition to be honest, it's one team comes out and stomps on the other one for a while. Sure I like blow outs if it's the Blazers doing it, but overall I just don't see how it's good for the NBA when the conference finals are 40 point games...

Watching Warriors get destroyed in Game 2 was awesome because I hate that Durant went there. Watching Cavs reassert themselves in Game 3 was reassuring. When I watch the Blazers play and it's a tight game, I'll get a text saying "good game." I say no, a good game is Blazers up 30 as I relax and enjoy.

You don't have to agree with me.

And also- sometimes teams come back from 25 down. See OKC vs Utah.

Ok, but there hasn't been any close ones. You mentioned you liked Houston blowing GS out, well ok did you like watching Houston get blown out twice?

I said I hate GS so no, I did not enjoy watching them win, lol. A close loss wouldn't have made me happier. In sports, it doesn't always like you want it to. Obviously.

If you watch the whole game, there's a lot to enjoy. I think a lot of people don't want to tune in til later and then are bummed out it's not close.

I’ve been doing the opposite, turn on the games than half way through the third going wel this is crappy basketball and turning it off... I do realize having no rooting interest left doesn’t help but I just don’t think it’s been fun to watch either like one team gets ahead the other team quits and we try again in a couple days.

True they have given some incentive to stay with the supermax. But without a hard cap and the ability to tread into tax area for a while and then pay more if the team is totally dominant then the "Superteam" will continue to be the way most championships are won. Since 2008 we have 8 championships by superteams and 2 by teams that were build or assembled. However the Spurs being one of them might have been called a super team in 2014. They were stacked. The Dallas Mavericks in 2011 seem to be the odd team out in the last 10 years and even that could have gone bad because LeBron was just in the first year of the Miami super team.
Now i will give you the Lottery is a chance but the tanking team can get no worse than the 4th pick. And the results say they are most likely 1st or 2nd at just under 80%. So yeah "Tanking" is a thing..... It's actually amazing how many teams (three) that have been 9th or worse that got the first pick. But in all cases the second pick went to the worst team. The one time the Blazers got the first pick since the lottery began in 85' they were project to be 6th with a 5.3% chance. The last 4 years in a row have all gone to the worst team in the league record wise.

Ah the refs. We all know they're in the pockets of the NBA brass. If you would come to one of our regular Wednesday night meetings you might learn a thing or two about how to properly conduct a conspiracy.

I wasn’t really trying to make it a conspiracy theory, most homes teams get more ft’s, and it seems like role players hit more shots at home, which leads to more reaching on defense.
