Other teams are amazing at 10-14; we are mediocre at 13-11.

    Joel Embiid is AD light.
He might get a couple low post moves as he gets more nba experience.
But he will always be a matchup problem due to his faceup game. Not his low post game.

We lost LMA and Wes, Batum was soft and missed a thousand open shots.
We still had Lillard who was an all-star, we had CJ and had other talented players.

The Nets GM started with no coach, no identity, no draft picks amd no talent besides Lopez and his stupid contract.

Wrong they lost Wes who was quite possibly the second or third best 3 and D player in the league before injury. Heart and soul of the team. They Lost LMA who is pretty much carrying the Spurs right now. They Lost Batum who a lot of people were trashing but was a Triple Double threat every game. And they lost Lopez that they had absolutely no replacement for at all until Nurk got here.
Also Dame is great but he was All-Star by default and has not been selected since. CJ was a question mark but the Blazers lucked out and he continued to develop. Now exactly what other "Talented" players did they have? Please tell me now. I'm really very interested in your answer here? Meyers? Louis Montero? Kris Kaman, Gerald Henderson? Clif Alexander? Brian Roberts?

In the West. Brooklyn is 10-14 in the East... though that means less this year than in years past. The East is looking decent.

Two players from the 2014-15 roster who came over to 2015-16 had a PER above 15 (average player) in 2014-15: Damian Lillard, and Chris Kaman. CJ was largely unproven.

I'm not sure what you want to hear in this argument lol
Ok, we both agree that LMA and Wes were great.

Neil did a nice job with getting some hard workers on the team, but his starting point after LMA and Wes left was better than his Nets counterparts. Neil's starting point in his rebuild was basically two young all-stars, fine financial situation and he had his future picks.

This isn't an argument. Just thought it was odd that you would consider what the Nets have done "Amazing". They won a couple games but still pretty much are a lotto team. Maybe they can improve? My bet is the Blazers will be better longer.
Funniest part is you are not the only one saying this? I don't see it. Nets will most likely be in the lottery this year?

They've done an amazing job because they had 1 asset,no future and a lot of problems.
Now they have a respected coach, they're building a good culture, they have some tough young players and they have young assets which may serve as good (not excellent) building blocks for their future.

Just think about the expectations for this team a year or two ago - most people thought they will have nothing, not even a good coach to start the 2018-2019 season. They actually gave their fanbase something interesting to watch unfold, that's a great accomplishment after the mistakes they've done.

Also kind of amusing how the league perception of the Nets impacted this summer's Cavs/Celtics trade. Cavs assumed they were getting an all-star and a top-3 pick in exchange for Kyrie--as it currently stands, the Nets pick is barely top-10, and may well get worse if they continue improving.

I just opened the NBA box score page and here's tonight's snapshot:

    Bulls-Hornets, 60-61
    Warriors-Pistons, 57-55
    Cavs-Pacers, 68-67
    Nuggets-Magic, 65-62
    Raps-Griz, 21-24
    Mavs-Bucks, 15-16
    Kings-Pecans, 18-23

It's like the Bizzaro version of last year's playoffs.
