Noel was definitely available from late September to early December. The problem was, we didn't have anyone available to trade at that time, due to all the trade restrictions on our guys. Who knows if Neil even looked into it, but it would have been nice. If I was him, I would have been on the phone with PHI 24/7 leading up to December 15th, trying to work out a package that they would have accepted. I would not have waited for Crabbe's trade restriction to lift on January 15th. That sounds like 20/20 hindsight, but I have been lobbying hard for Noel since September. BNM
I was interested in adding Bogut IF we could have gotten Noel (and Ibaka). Now, that ship has sailed. BNM
Sources are saying every trade that goes down between now and the February deadline will be met with cries of "We could have offered more" from disgruntled Blazers fans.
And some people wanna say "you don't know what Neil has been doing, maybe he has been trying for certain players" no I don't think so. My argument to that is this team is soft. Their chemistry is both good and bad. First off they don't even show chemistry on the court so whatever but they take personal friendships too seriously. It's like this sensitive little group that really have adopted the whole us against the world mentality. Neil doesn't wanna shake that up during the season. Even if we could get rid of crabbe or whoever, he wouldn't do that. He is gonna wait till summer and do all his shit there whatever that is and then convince us it was so great and how we need these assets and it will be assets forever. Fucking Meyers leonard will retire with Portland as an asset. I just don't buy his bullshit anymore and this organization under Paul allen has been sketchy, nothing new. Can't take criticism. So sensitive. Neil can't even take questions from Jason quick for fucks sake
http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2017/02/sixers-notes-noel-okafor-henderson-brown.html "Philadelphia’s desire to deal Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor is complicated by their declining trade value, writes Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Noel is in the final year of his rookie deal and will be a restricted free agent after the season is over. Any team that acquires him faces the risk that he will receive a large offer that it would have to match to keep him. Okafor’s value is driven down by a hurting right knee, defensive problems and the feeling that his old-school game is only effective in certain systems. The Bulls have reportedly contacted the Sixers about Okafor, but Pompey suspects the best Philadelphia could hope for is a young player and a mid- to late-first-round pick."
Well defensively we are majorly soft and I don't know if you have noticed but Plumlee isn't a center and very soft defensively. Put Noel in there, he is perfect to combo with CJ and Dame and is a beast defensively
Well I agree with you that we are soft underneath. But adding a skinny shot blocker does not really solve that issue, even if he is good defensively. I see him more as a PF. And regardless we are not getting him. I think we need some bulk and toughness underneath. I can't believe I am going to say this but maybe we see what Milwaukee wants for Hibbert. He would come cheap and he is not soft. Not to start, but for 20 minutes a game....
That shot LeBron just made no mere mortal can pull off I'm sure of it. I know everyone is kissing Brady nuts right now but LeBron is truly someone special.
He's the greatest player of this generation and it's not even close. Those Laker fans who think Kobe was better are sniffing glue.
This game is crazy. Before that, he missed a wide open layup... and he travelled but it didn't get called. He dodged so much shit by making that 3.
Just back and forth big shots. Kyrie just drained a 3 to tie it. Lebron isn't even in the game right now.
With Lebron pressuring the Cavs to acquire Carmelo Anthony, do they do this trade? I think they might trade Love for Anthony if they can upgrade their backup PG and C spots. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hnt2cgk PG Irving / Jennings SG Smith / Korver SF James / Jefferson PF Anthony / Frye C Thompson / O'Quinn
