I don't think we have the pieces they want/we're willing to give up. The most I'm willing to give up for Z-Bo would be Meyers+Kaman

Same..... but how much could they possibly get for him? He's 34, he has one year left on his deal. I guess a team like Miami might be willing to pony up something decent. OR maybe they were impressed with Leonard from the playoffs last year

One way I thought of it working would be:

    POR: Z-Bo

MEM: David Lee+one of the Boston owned picks

BOS: Cap room for another trade?

I wouldn't want to sacrifice a promising long term player like Meyers for Z-Bo so I think you are right, we don't have the pieces they wan't/we're willing to give up.

I'm not sure Olshey would trade Meyers for ZBO unless there is a strong feeling that they won't be able to sign him to a contract they favor.

David Lee is garbage at this point. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd rather have Leonard.

I think landing Z-Bo would be a move to help develop Vonleh and make the playoffs. It could work long term too as Z-Bo probably has about 3-4 years left of being a contributor due to his game.

? We wouldn't be getting him... He is a huge expiring which would help Memphis this summer.

Well, why wouldn't Memphis just want Leonard? We can basically eat the entirety of Randolph's contract without needing to send anything at all. He's only making $10 million. Getting Boston to give up a pick would cost a lot, imo.

Leonard and Gasol don't exactly like each other lol also Boston has a shit ton of picks, just give the lowest valued first rounder.

Nothing, we would essentially be facilitating them for another trade where they can bring in a big money player like Howard/Cousins.

So they give up Lee/pick for nothing but cap space? I don't know dude..... picks are worth more these days.

Those would have to be some really good draft picks. I think Blake is worth quite a bit more than Zach.

I think of it this way, they do the trade where Z-Bo is sent to us, David Lee+Mavs 1st round pick is sent to Memphis they then turn around and deal Smart, Olynyk and BRK 1st rounder for Cousins.

Something is going to have to go to Boston from either Portland or Memphis. I just don't think they're giving up a pick for cap space.

The deal for Cousins might work. That's a pretty good haul.

I guess in my mind the Griffin injury torpedoed their Playoff chances, where Z-Bo could reignite them. I know LAC won't drop out of the POs, but if Blake's shooting/rebounding is hindered post-injury LAC may as well blow that team up. And obviously MEM needs to blow their team up.

I think there are a whole lot of teams that - if they're honest with themselves - should be blowing the crap outta their rosters. If you're not GSW/SAS/CLE, and you're carrying aging, expensive players you should start re-tooling now.
