If this happens that would make it harder for the KNicks to trade for AD more then likely or maybe more likely but hard to tell until we see what is being traded but my guess :

Wes , Dennis Smith , another player mainly for the contract to fill in salaries and a 1st

They can only trade those guys individually now for the rest of the season.

Doncic and Porzingis is a heck of a start towards a contender for the Mavs.

It is a super exciting core and they should be a perfect match for each other.

Risk worth taking with what they gave up. Solid work by Nelson/Cuban

Could already be better than the Blazers.

Comments like this are dumb. Just like the Suns and Twolves have passed us too, right?

Did NY really screw themselves in this deal? Exactly what two max free agents are going to sign with that train wreck of a team?

Add in a pretty good Draft pick.

They would make the playoffs in the East and then get crushed by an top Eastern team or obliterated by the West finalist. Unless they get a bunch more FA talent taking a pay cut.

If they plan on Smith being any good, they probably shouldn't get Kyrie. But KD and Klay would fit beautifully with Smith and Ntilikina.

Okay DSJ and two first round picks for Porz. It's not as bad as it looked at first.

If the Knicks let Wes go, I would be highly in favor of picking him up for the stretch run to the playoffs, if there's a roster spot open for him.

Well technically if they get the #1 pick they would have a pretty good bargaining chip to trade for AD. Then the question is could AD be enough to entice KD to sign? It is a gamble. The one thing they have going for them is the city of NY. The Knicks have been bad so long the fan base would go crazy with a good team.
This is a gamble that would never work in Portland but that can work in LA or NY. Free agency can work there, they just have the first piece AND the cap space...

Serious question: Has NYK been good this millennium? To my recollection they haven't been good since the 90s. And they're so insignificant that I don't give enough fucks to look it up myself.

I dont understand that Porzingis trade.

Why trade him so fast? Why not wait for the bidding war? if they want to save money, can't they get some good draft picks for him?

It's just so confusing, i'm stunned.

If KP stays healthy they are likely to be better than us. Doncic might be an all-timer and Rick is one of the best coaches in the league.
