Anyone else frustrated that teams who are way better then the Blazers are really going after trying to be better and the Blazers are basically giving away players for something that wont play a minute for them.
I heard an interview with D'Antoni last week in which he said he wanted to do something similar with the Suns but didn't actually have the guts to go all the way with it. He said he regretted not believing in his idea enough to implement it. I'm not sure why he'd want to ditch Amare but whatever.
Booker is in the first year of a five year deal with NO opt outs. He can "want to move on" all he wants but that doesn't mean squat.
I don't think we'll get him, but I don't think it means "squat". Plenty of cases of players with at least a year left on their contract who successfully forced an exit these days. It's more of a player's league now.
I dont think he’s saying it cant happen, just that Phoenix doesnt have to trade him, and he’s under contract for a while still.
LMAO, if Booker complained and I was running the Suns I'd tell him "tough shit." You're not in the position to demand anything. Booker has ZERO leverage for 3 more years. Almost every star that wants out isn't traded until a year left in his deal. I don't understand why you guys are ignoring this.
If you were running the Suns and told him that, you'd also risk him being problematic for your franchise for the next 4 years as well. The leverage he has is his influence, and if he legitimately wanted out (not saying he does), he could theoretically wield that like a club every day. Imagine a team's franchise player telling free agents not to sign there, telling fans not to waste their money coming to games, etc.
