    Not buying it.
He’s big. Very big. But he ain’t as strong as he is big. I’ve seen him in the weight room. He isn’t strong. No question he’s big. What’s worse is he isn’t tough either. Soft! Through and Through.

This is a fantastic trade and I honestly think the Pelicans would do it.

This is why Sixers don’t need CJ

You don't understand natural strength. I know guys who dominate on the offensive line but can barely do a push-up. Shaq wasn't exactly known as a weight room freak, either.

I noticed about a dozen of the 457 shots he has made. They didn't show a single one of the 531 shots he has missed. But that's the problem with a 1 minute highlight reel

on the other hand, between Maxey and Curry Philly is getting 32 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and great efficiency for 20M less than they'd have to pay CJ. Of course whatever CJ brings is more than they are getting from Simmons this year

The thing is that neither Maxey who only shoots wide open threes and not very many of them and Curry only add up to the offensive output that CJ is very capable of himself. Imagine if you gave their shot attempts to CJ and put Danny Green or Thybulle in their place in the back court next to CJ, giving you a ton more defense and no less offense... then could bring both of them off the bench and never have perimeter scoring droughts. Those guys are good and by the time CJ's contract is up Maxey might make CJ insignificant to the Sixers but right now CJ would bring a ton of value to them along with first round picks if we were to get Simmons.

The Sixers do need more offensive production from the perimeter... they needed that last season when they were in first place in the East, so they definitely need it now. CJ is one of the most productive perimeter scorers in the league and he's definitely the most productive available to the Sixers in a trade, at least that I know of.

Exactly. They have everything Cj provides between those two players

Right, so they could get everything those two players provide in one and then have another player added to the guys on the floor who can do different things. That would make CJ valuable to them. Now Maxey might end up being able to do what CJ does but not for a little while, so while they're waiting to see how that pans out CJ can be a big deal for them. They don't have anyone else that does what CJ does, as you just pointed out they're starting two guys that when combined do what he does right now. It's not a hard concept. If you think that Maxey or Seth are as good as or better than CJ at what CJ does then you're right, the Sixers have no use for CJ but if you are evaluating their abilities correctly you know that's not the case.

The Sixers would be so much better if they were starting CJ and a defensive specialist in the back court, while bringing Seth and Maxey off the bench... so much better. Does it make them better enough to equal the value that Ben Simmons would bring to us? No that's not really close and is why 2 or even 3 first rounders or other players would probably be necessary to make that trade work but don't get it twisted CJ would make them a helluva lot better than they are as currently constructed.

Yeah, that's an interesting situation... initially I thought I read that the woman involved didn't want to press any charges or talk to the police so maybe that's changed. I haven't seen any photographic evidence of assault.

Also I kind of thought this would go away because I've seen the bodycam footage. Hayes just kept standing in front of his door, between the door and the officers telling them that they couldn't come in without a warrant which they disagreed with. Then they started grabbing at his arms telling him he was being detained and he kind of flung his arms trying to get their hands off of him but not making contact with the officers. Then like three of them threw him on the ground the whole time he's complaining but not yelling. Initially one of the officers had his hand around Hayes's throat but then the body cam turned away and then Hayes started wheezing that he couldn't breathe and the body cam panned back and an officer had his knee on Hayes's neck George Floyd style and one of the other officers told him to move his knee and he did.

Then as he's laying on the ground and not struggling enough that any part of him is moving the officers start yelling "stop resisting" (they hadn't said one word about him being under arrest) and then they tased the shit out of him like four times while he said he wasn't resisting and was just asking them to stop but every time he'd tell his friend to get their badge numbers they'd tase him some more. The whole time a woman was yelling for the officers to stop and for Hayes to stop and for Hayes to shut up. For a little while during the time they were tasing him and had him on the ground the bodycam got covered so you could only hear what was going on.

It was reported that Hayes was drunk and that's believable given how he was acting and talking. He was not about letting the police tell him what he could and could not do on his property. He also wasn't about letting them inside but wasn't being violent about it. Again no footage or photos have come out showing proof of violence on a person or anything else illegal but they must have something if they're moving forward with charges because the whole thing was a really bad look for the police and obviously not a good look for Hayes but the police came off a lot worse. Hayes didn't initiate any contact with the officers, he ended up bloodied but none of them did.

The call came from someone off the premises that was texting with the woman complaining that Hayes was being loud and violent and she was scared. She said the woman was afraid and had called Hayes's family to calm him down but that wasn't working and that she couldn't call 911 (sounded like she didn't feel comfortable doing that but was asking her cousin, the caller to). The caller really didn't know the extent of what was going on but stressed that there were no weapons on the premises. The whole call was very calm. The caller said Hayes was a basketball player and toward the end of the call the dispatch operator asked if he was a college basketball player and the caller said, "no NBA".

They've probably moved on from CJ. They want Simons.
