Any championship caliber team would love to have a guy like Aminu.

Really difficult to see, with what is left on the rockets roster. They need to shed salary to land melo, would seemingly need to include ryan Anderson, and I really don't want him at his price.

To maintain his self-image as a good guy. You'd be surprised how important that is to us mere mortals.

He can play PF, I wouldn't trade for a strict C either. Gasol is different.

On what planet can Marc Gasol play PF? It's has to be pretty low gravity for that lumbering dude to play PF.

But this only measures the times he's actually in position and defending like he's suppose to be. All the times he's lost, out of position, or helping where help isn't needed doesn't show up in these stats. There's literally nothing above average about his game - he has versatility to defend multiple positions because of his length, not because he's a good defender. And honestly, any stat that says Aminu is #2 only to Draymond Green is obviously a flawed metric.

His DRtg is only two points better than Harkless, and according to half the people in here Harkless is a poor defender.
His DWS is 0.1 better than Harkless.
    His DBPM is 0.5 better.

If you compare those across the league, he's ranked at roughly the 100th best...I'd say that's solidly average.

He is an average defender, made worse due to poor decision making.

He has played 0 time at pf the last 4 years. You insisting he can do it, and him having played there this half century are two different things

I would probably drink like a fish and for once, a rumor on this board would be correct.

Huh. It must be related to this "possessing a soul" thing I've heard so much about.

Do you really not pay any attention to him other than to his size?

He's slimmed down a lot, and can move laterally. Just because he's big doesn't mean he can't. He moves his feet better than guys like Lamarcus Aldridge and Derrick Favors, and his offensive skillset is ideal for a PF.

So what? The only reason he couldn't play PF is due to a lack of lateral quickness. However, he's quick enough lateral and a smart perimeter defender. He doesnt get beat by PFs and he contests every shot.

So what you are saying is we trade for a guy who is 32, 33 in January, has always been a big bodied center and we should switch him to the more nimble position of PF.... Totally get the thought process. GM of the year kinda move.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I agree that it's possible that Gasol could play power forward--he does have decent lateral agility for a big man. Not having ever played the position makes it a significant risk, though. Projecting a 32 year old into a new position is one thing, but that doesn't mean it'll go as you project in reality.

Of course, I don't think Memphis would be all that interested in that package, so mark me down as one of the people opposite those who think it's a crazy-lavish package.
