The three guard lineup is not a long term strategy, we will get killed against any team with a legit SF or in any playoff scenario. It does increase Napier’s trade value though so maybe we can package him to land an actual solution.

I never said to play 3 guards at the same time. Napier can get 24min a game just backing up Dame, with Dame backing up CJ. We need legit SFs.

If we could have a combination of Fournier and Crowder we'd be set...

the pick and roll with Dame and Nurk has been defended better this season because instead of Crabbe standing in the corner we have the brick squad of Harkless, Turner, and Aminu. Teams can just slide under the basket and leave any of those three wide open. If you don’t think we miss Crabbe, you have an agenda.

I still remember how people were trying to convince the small Crabbe crowd that his shooting would easily be replaced. Well....still waiting.

Napier plays that Lou Williams type of role IMO. I've wanted somebody to fill that role for a while. In terms of trading him, there's not many teams that would trade much for him, since many teams have better PGs already. I guess you could tempt a team like Denver, but would we want to make them better?

Could also tempt the Knicks. But what would you expect in return from New York?

Yeah, we do need another shooter. I'm saying we don't miss Crabbe, we just need a legit SF who could hit a 3.

The only reason we would miss Crabbe is because Harkless and Turner can't shoot for shit. That's not a testament to Crabbe, that's just Harkless and Turner being awful from the outside. Their lack of range is why teams are shutting down the Dame/Nurk pick and roll.

    Upgrade the SFs.

Ehh, he didn't fit well there, and it may not hurt them all that much. It just means more Faried and Plumlee, which is a pretty good pair of big men to replace Millsap's production.

Sounds like a good argument for missing Crabbe. We’re going to have a hard time landing anyone better than him. Fournier and Crowder sound nice, but what would it take? And why would Fournier be available? He’s one of the few guys on Orlando that can create for himself. Hezonja seems like a better bet.

Thank you! I loved Crabbe he was money from 3

He would fit perfect starting at the 3 for us instead of weak as she Harkless

Yea he has. He’s averging 15 and 6. Their defense went from one of the NBA’s worst to the middle of the pack this season.

Plus they have been 4.5 points per 100 possessions better when Millsap has been on the court this season for them.

    That’s a huge blow he’s out 3 months

It has. Not sure what you've been watching but Napier has done just that. He's literally shooting 65% from 3...

Won't be the reason why Denver falls off though.
They spend most of the next 5 weeks away from Denver. They're utter garbage on the road, especially with Murray coming back to earth.

You actually think that three guard lineup is sustainable? Let’s see what happens when they run into a team with an actual SF. Imagine those three in a playoff scenario. They’d most likely get killed. The credit goes to Stotts here for getting creative. Olshey however, has work to do, because if that’s their idea of a long term solution, good luck.

Here are some of the small forwards McCollum (or Lillard?) would theoretically have to guard in a playoff scenario with our three guard lineup.

    Durant
    Wiggins
    George
    Kawhi
    Ariza

    Lol.

If I want to see people brick uncontested shots, I'll go watch 4th and 5th graders play.

No, they chased, and won, rings. Neither are/were shameless stat padders, trying to rack up pointless triple doubles at the expense of winning. Magic and LeBron make their teammates better. Westbrook, not so much. He makes his teammates leave.
