Dude he’s a great player but he was 4-14 in this game. Now people can shut the fuck up when they try to say dame got exposed. He never did. He was trapped and doubled. Jrue holiday didn’t get doubled but he was primarily defended by Kevin Durant.

I've always thought Jordan Crawford would be a good 6th man

Draymond saying they played "a bunch of gimmicky defenses to stop Dame and CJ"

Yea the way NOP completely sold out to stop Dame and CJ is “gimmicky”. You usually can’t do that to playoff teams because they actually pass the ball and rely on more than one on one play from their guards.

That series gets more embarrassing as time goes on.

do you realize that the worse Holiday look against the Warriors the worst Lillard look?

Lillard got schooled by a non-top tier point guard, the same happened in the past, do you remember how Beno Udrih got the best of him in the Memphis series?

Youre avoiding all context to try to trash Lillard. Do you realize that Holiday was 1 of 2 guys constantly guarding Lillard, and that they were doubling him WITH Anthony Davis? Do you also realize Lillard was hardly ever matched up against Holiday defensively? It wasn't some one-on-one thing, and your playground basketball mindset doesnt apply to this situation.

Beno went off because Dame was instructed to go over all ball screens even though he wasn't a good 3pt shooter, and our big sagged, giving him an open mid-range pullup.

Try to consider context next time.

It blows my mind how so many people can watch four straight games of a team doing everything they can to stop one guy from beating them and their takeaway is “that guy isn’t that good”. Especially if they’ve watched Dame play the last six years. The problem wasn’t Dame, folks. Every player in the league would struggle being double and some times triple teamed by multiple first team all defense guys.

The difference is most other stars have a supporting cast or a better scheme that allows them to be a playmaker for others instead of consistently being told to force the action because that’s all we know.

You make a good point but you also have to make shots to draw a defender and open up a lane. Aminu being a huge liability because he can't make a jumper. Aminu gets better numbers in the playoffs because teams beg him to shoot it. They lag off and use his defender to clog the lanes and double Dame and CJ. When Aminu is left wide open he gets respectable numbers when he can set and shoot as shown recently in the playoffs. But lets take the Warriors for example. If the Pels leave Durant, Thompson, Iggy, or Curry or even Green open like that? Any of those players have a career night at the three point line. Aminu cannot make a shot as soon as he has to move. We have seen this over and over again. Then when he does move he has to try to get to the basket with the ball in his hands. This is a total trainwreck as we have all witnessed over and over again. The reason the Blazers made a run in March was because both Aminu and Harkless were making shots. Both Ed Davis and Nurkic could post up and look for a shooter on the perimeter. When they found one, that shooter made the defense pay. Then as it happened a few times, the cuts would start. The PnR would open up and Nurkic would end up with 4-5 assists. That stretch is actually what got him averaging 2 this year. He was down to 1.4 through January.
To put it simply.... The Blazers need more reliable shooting from the perimeter to have those open cuts to the basket. It's what spreading the floor is all about. Because the Warriors have absolutely LIGHTS OUT shooting they have more open looks at the basket.

    Exactly!
Even more so it blows my mind that some of those same people are blaming the coach for not having a supporting cast at this point of a total rebuild for not putting an offense around Dame to keep him from struggling when he is double or even triple teamed.

And here is the next thing you can put with that. Durant cannot guard Dame alone. Not gonna happen.

Lillard has proven often times already that he is one of the elite players in the league and we should be happy we have such a player.
