    Dude it doesn't matter that MPJ wasn't on tonight because if @AldoTrapani was on here he would be talking about, "damn why can't we ever get a guy like Kawhi, he's so much better than anything we've ever got, this team is so shitty." Believe me his negativity is unrelenting... or relentless, I'm not sure why both of those words exist.

    They were already arguably better without Kawhi last year. The higher winning percentage may not have been sustainable without him in the playoffs, but their offense flowed better when he was off the court, so I'm not surprised other guys have elevated their games this year in his absence. Kawhi is a phenomenal player, but he's not great for ball movement.

    I can't really compare the two teams since I don't follow PDX closely enough to know about the franchise's other elements, but I can explain why Toronto has improved year-after-year for about seven seasons.

    Toronto has been good since they hired Masai Ujiri, who changed the culture of the team since he arrived in 2013. Full stop.
