I wonder what his market is, he is young and definitely a upgrade over Almunia.

He is 33 so I wouldn't really consider that young but the progression in skill differs with 'keepers. I wouldn't mind him joining the club.

Supposedly on a Spanish Radio station , Radio Marca, it will obviously have to have extra money included from Inter's side

I just don't see any common sense in that from our side of the fence. Why would we ship off our best player, and perhaps one of the best players in the world (at this point), for a youngster who has only played a handful of games at Inter?

We make more turnover than any other club in the world (since the latest numbers). I think we're good for cash.

    Chamakh to Arsenal......

"My future? Well, I hold all the cards," he said. "I have no reason to be under pressure but, every day passing by, I am a little less a Bordeaux player.

"My choice is to join a Premier League club and, if I could choose, I will go to Arsenal. Bordeaux have brought me so much. I will soon clearly state things so the club can prepare to find my replacement peacefully.'

Sheesh... just say what you're going to do or don't say anything at all. Seems like he just loves the attention.

    - Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly joined the chase for rising Italian star Mario Balotelli. Wenger could offer the youngster a way out of the Italian league, although Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is also believed to be interested in the frontman.

Not official, but it seems like it's closer today

According to a report published on British newspaper The Times’ website, Girondins de Bordeaux forward Marouane Chamakh has reached an agreement in principle to sign with Arsenal at the end of the present campaign.

The French-born Moroccan star has been the subject of intense transfer speculation since the summer, when it became evident that he would not extend his contract with les Girondins and instead sought a move to the English Premier League. There has been no shortage of interest in the lanky forward player since then, with Sunderland, West Ham United, Liverpool and the Gunners all credited with a desire to sign the 26-year-old.

It has been suggested that he has turned down the advances of Liverpool in favour of a move to the Emirates Stadium, where the powerful forward player will earn in the region of €68,000 (£60,000) per week, a figure far in excess of his present salary at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Chamakh’s proficiency in the air has been one of the key reasons for the impressive rise of Laurent Blanc’s side from European challengers to France’s best side. Critics tend to point to a lack of goals in his game, with only seven in 23 league appearances for the Ligue 1 leaders this term.

Damn... that's almost as much as RVP. We're talking over £3-million/year.

    - Barcelona in a statement have "flatly denied" they have reached an agreement with Cesc Fabregas which would see the Arsenal captain return to the Nou Camp at the end of the season.
    - Arsenal have beaten Liverpool to the signature of Marouane Chamakh. The Bordeaux striker is set to agree a five-year, £50,000-a-week deal with the Gunners.
    - Arsenal defender William Gallas is set to quit Arsenal over a row about the length of his contract extension at the Gunners.
    - Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that when it comes to signing the world's best players, the Gunners cannot afford the top stars.
