Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will face a battle with PSV to sign Ivorian striker Lacina Traore.

Heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, it appears that Arsenal now have competition in the race to sign the teenage striker.

Reports in Holland state that Eindhoven made a last-gasp bid at the end of the January transfer window to try and lure Traore to the Philips Stadium, but they fell short and ran out of time.

    - Arsene Wenger will spend his £35-million transfer reserve to sign three players this summer: a striker (Chamakh or Traore), a keeper, and a central defender.

    - Mikael Silvestre is set to leave Arsenal after being snubbed by boss Arsene Wenger for last Wednesday's clash with Liverpool.
    - Marouane Chamakh will be an Arsenal player this summer after agreeing to a four-year, £10.4million deal (after all this drama, he better be fucking brilliant!)
    - Kolo Toure believes Patrick Vieira's "winning mentality" can help Manchester City end their 41-year wait for FA Cup success.

    - Barcelona are budgeting for a £60m summer deal for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
    - Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has revealed he snubbed offers to join Chelsea and Manchester City last summer.
    - Arsenal have beaten Liverpool and Tottenham to the signing of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh, who will join them in the summer on a fee transfer but will still cost them £16m in wages and add-ons.
    - Arsenal defender William Gallas has been targeted by AC Milan, with the Italians hoping to land the centre-back on a free transfer in the summer.

    - Arsenal look likely to miss out on 18-year-old Grasshoppers Zurich forward Nassim Ben Khalifa with German side Wolfsburg looking favourites to sign the Swiss star.
    - Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is odds on to leave Anfield if the Reds fail to finish in the top four of the Premier League, while Arsenal captain and midfielder Cesc Fabregas will walk out on the Gunners if they do not win the title or the Champions League.
    - Former Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp has completed his coaching badge course with the Dutch football federation (KNVB). The clearly ambitious Dutchman said last year: "I would advise everyone to work in England, as a player or a coach, it just breathes football. It is fantastic for the game."

Dunno why the Mirror is always on this... how many star players have left their teams in their prime?

    Rarely.

    - Portsmouth have made a plea to the Premier League to allow them to sell players outside of the transfer window.

Looking at their squad, there aren't really many players I would like to see at Arsenal. Would James even be an upgrade over Almunia? He seems to be just as shaky at times.

    Very rarely.

Calamity James? Seems like more of the same. He's better than Almunia but equally if not more prone to bad decision making.
