Yeah, that's probably why Wenger is being hesitant on the Huntelaar, Chamakh, Hangeland, Dzeko, Melo, etc. deals.
You mean the same Samuel Eto'o that they sent to Inter in the Ibrahimovic deal, or are there two? I don't like the Ibrahimovic deal, but a Eto'o-Fabregas swap wouldn't be much better. Xavi needs a defensive destroyer with him, not a clone.
- Kolo Toure will block a move to Man City - Tottenham are picking up efforts to sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Real Madrid), but Arsenal also chasing
Why does Cana want to go to Sunderland? Surely he's still a big target for us. He's a known face in the French league and can play a holding role. We need him!
I dunno... Sunderland is horrible. Poor choice on his part. Maybe he just wants to break into England so he can jump up to a real team.
- Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor wants former Arsenal team-mate Kolo Toure to join him at Eastlands in order to strengthen City's defence. - Another Arsenal defender, Emmanuel Eboue, is a £9m target for Fiorentina and several Spanish clubs. - Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp still wants to sign Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, however, the Dutchman will have to drop his £90,000 a week pay demands.
- Manchester City have agreed personal terms with Arsenal defender Kolo Toure in a deal worth £15m, while the Eastlands club also expect to sign Chelsea captain John Terry and Everton defender Joleon Lescott by the end of August - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is planning a £7m bid for Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou, 23, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs out at the end of the season - And the Arsenal boss is planning to make a £15m move for Real Madrid striker - and Tottenham target - Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and a £10m bid for Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole - Wenger is also leading the race to sign Brazilian 'wonderkid' Wellington, 17 - Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will fly out to Amsterdam to thrash out personal terms with Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, 25, after agreeing an £18m deal with the Spanish side
- Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner says he is completely committed to the Gunners after rumours of a possible move to AC Milan - Wigan Athletic will fight tooth and nail to keep hold of Lee Cattermole despite renewed interest from Sunderland (and Arsenal) - Manchester City, turned down by Chelsea captain John Terry, will now turn their attentions to a £12m bid for Arsenal defender Kolo Toure - Sunderland and Bordeaux are still negotiating a deal that would result in striker Marouane Chamakh heading to the north-east
Why is it that Sunderland keeps getting their noses into our business? We express interest in a prospect and suddenly they are interested, too.
Sign a defensive midfielder and you will be the surprise package of the season. Don't and you won't. Denilson is a good player but I liken him to a more skilful version of the immensly overrated Mascherano. What Arsenal need (and Wenger seems to know it) is an Alonso. Get that and you are in real business!
As long as Wenger knows it we'll be set. We'll be getting a new defensive midfielder, a striker, and a defender by the end of the transfer window.
You'd think but sadly for you that isn't always the case. He knew it last season but he refused to pay top dollar for Ilner. You better hope (and I do think it will be the case) it is a case of once bitten, twice shy. Playing Nasri as a defensive midfielder? Bad Arsene, very bad. Maybe even his injury has a positive outcome? Diaby is a squad player and Song is just massively overrated. You NEED that Alonso. Even if you can't get an Alonso, you need someone who can and will hold while Fabregas does his thing. I wouldn't be surprised to see Zigic's name crop up again in relation to Arsenal as far as strikers go.
