If they can trade Ron for a quality center or power forward (say Carlos Boozer?) then they can go ahead and start their number one draft pick Danny Granger. PG - Tinsley SG - Jackson SF - Granger PF - Boozer C - O'Neal That's still a title contending lineup.

Successful Scenario Due to Indiana and Orlando being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and Orlando had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.</div>
I say either: -luke walton and devean george for artest -lamar for artest+tinsley/pollard the lakers may have 2 throw in a 2nd round draft pick
Serious? shapecity and others: sorry for my ignorance but where are you getting this Odom for Artest rumor? If all the Pacers can get for Artest is Lamar Odom then that is pathetic. Artest has much more value than Lamar Odom. Brawl or not, Walsh would be crazy to let Artest go for so little. To say the Lakers would be improved is the understatement of the year. The Lakers would definitely be in the playoffs with Ron Artest. D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y. And no one except the Spurs would want to face them.

The Pacers would never do that trade. Odom for Artest AND Tinsley? Odom isn't even close to what Artest is, plus you add Tinsley? Laker fans have to stop thinking to themselves that Lamar Odom can be traded for players that are way better than him.
There's no way artest is going to want to go to LA, he already said he want's to be traded to a winning team preferably in the eastern conference near where he lives. I heard on espn he's considering detroit and cleveland as 2 teams he would like to be traded to. I think him on cleveland would be a great fit, defense is something they are definatley missing. Him and lebron would be crazy, the only way that could go through would have to involve Z and possibly snow. For maybe foster and artest.
You know what, now that I think about it, Artest is a dick. Why would he do this in the middle of such a promising season? Now the Pacers are in a position where if they don't trade him, they don't know how it will affect the team's vibe or if he will play to his potential or if he will do something nuts. If I was D. Walsh i would be pissed as hell.
Here is a trade I've been thinking about: Artest and Pollard to Boston for Paul Pierce. I dont know if Boston would go for this as Pierce is playing great but if they are rebuilding they would get a cheap star (with baggage) and a big expiring contract. And according to some of the posts i've read Artest wants to play in the east and on a winner, Boston isn't playing great but anyone has a shot in the Atlantic.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWohl:</div><div class="quote_post">Didn't the Pistons trade for a HUGE headache, Rasheed "T" Wallace when Larry was there?</div> Rasheed Wallace is not a headache, he's a very smart player and is very coachable. He barely gets technicals anymore, but unfortunately the stigma from his Trailblazer days still follow him.

Artest has a violent nature about him, Sheed was just a hothead, but you never saw him getting violent with players, cameras, or chairs.
I actually like the Artest for Odom trade. The Pacers will get rid of Artest and his crazy attitude, and get in return somebody who just wants to win in Odom. While not as effective, Odom can make the Pacers a more uptempo team. The Lakers will get Artest, who will take loads of pressure off Kobe. Together they would easily be the best duo in the league. Just imagine Kobe and Artest on the same team. If anybody can deal with Artest, Phil Jackson is the man.

Iverson, Brown and the 76ers were competitive every damn season, where have you been, they made the finals one time, Iverson carried that team LOL @ YOU Jerry Sloan can't even handle Puerto Rican hothead Carlos Arroyo, what makes you think he can handle Queensbridge phenom Ron Artest? The Jazz already have Kirilenko Artest belongs on the Knicks, Knicks are desperate of another superstar, their weakness is SF and defense, Artest can also give the team 20 ppg I don't care if Isiah gives up Curry, Fyre, and Nate all together, get Artest to the Knicks.

I think that this trade should happen: INDY: Ron Artest, Steven Jackson, Sarunas Jasikevicius CLE: Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Damon Jones
